Undergoing cosmetic surgery can be looked down on in today’s society. It is hard to keep up with the ever changing looks of today. Many people feel that they do not match up to the beautiful people they see in the magazines. This is why people get cosmetic surgeries so they can improve themselves. It can make someone feel better about their self image. Many men and women feel that they need to look flawless in order to be beautiful. Some people feel that their self-image is not good enough, or maybe they have had a bad experience with their looks. Either way people should be able to get these procedures done and feel better about themselves. Cosmetic surgeries may improve peoples’ lifestyles by increasing self satisfaction in their job, relationship, or even improve their self esteem. It has allowed people to get new appealing features and has shown how far surgery can go. People like to talk about how a popular celebrity has altered their body too much, but the other side of that is the improvements they have done for other people. If someone was in a bad accident a plastic surgeon could fix whatever part of that person 's body that was destroyed. It amazes me that people are so against elective cosmetic surgeries. It is a medical advancement that people should not be judged for. Some people suffer from body dysmorphic disorder. This disorder makes a person see a different version of their body. It may cause them to be heavier set, odd facial or body features. They never feel better about their body. If they can make themselves feel better then we should let them. However, these people also need to seek professional help to cope with it if their surgeries become too
