In this day and age, networks are everywhere. The internet has also revolutionized around world. We tend to take for grantedthat computers should be connected together. When it comes to networking, it's hard to believe that the field is still a relatively young one, especially when it comes to hooking up small computers like PCs. In approaching any discussion of networking, it is very useful to take a step back and look at networking from a high level. What is it, exactly, and why is it now considered? So, it important that it is assumed that most PCs and other devices should be networked. Computer network is the best way to take advantage of more than one computer resources by sharing these resources , such as storage space , …show more content…

There are a number of definitions of the network. Network is defined by Curtin (1997) as “A collection of interrelated links a net, a network of roads an interconnected cycle, a network of alliances.”This definition suits our purpose well which is a computer network is simply system of interconnected computers. As well as Ryan(2013)discussed" A network is one of information technology's interests. It is a nodes interconnected via communication paths. Also, it can interconnect with other networks and sub networks. By the way, networks are characterized in terms of spatial distance as local area network (LAN) ,metropolitan (MAN) and Wide (WAN)." In addition, Television Fanatic(2015) defined network in their own way which is "If you have group of computers connected to each other so, you have a network . It has main aim which is toenable the sharing of files and information between different devices. Cables are tools of network that can connected other devices together, for instance Ethernet cables or phone …show more content…

Techtarget (2015) gives a definition for PAN area network. “It is a network made up of a number of devices that are electrically connected to the exchange of information" .Furthermore, Zahrjan (2003) has a definition of PAN,WAN and LAN networks which are" First, PAN network consists of a computer network in a single location and be an office building which is very useful for sharing data and services such as data storage, printers, and can be relatively build local networks with inexpensive devices such as cables Ethernet. Second, WAN network takes very large space such as entire world and it contain sub networks for example local area network and MAN network. Also it considered the most popular I the world. consists of a computer network at a single site, typically an individual office building Finally , A LAN is very useful for sharing resources, such as data storage and printers. LANs can be connected with relatively inexpensive components , such as hubs, network adapters and Ethernet cables". For other type of networks Tomsho & Jahnson (1995) discus MAN network " A(MAN) network is larger than LAN, so MAN consists of a computer network across an entire city and college campus. Usually this network is limited to single building. Actually, MAN network can cover spacious land, other uses, it used to connect many LANs networks together. Factually MAN is
