Communication is important because it is the way you build relationships with everyone around you, eg children, colleagues and parents. Communication is also the way you let other people know information and what is going on and the way you find out information and what is going on.

You communicate with children, colleagues, parents and outside agencies, eg ofsted, health visitors.

In my role as a child care worker communication is important because I need to know if a child has any issues, for example a cough, or not eating properly. The parents will tell me and I then have to let the staff in the room know by writing on the white board and telling them verbally.
