“The Ideal society has yet to be built- one which balances nicely collective well-being and individual well-being” (Pilgrim). When one looks to improve both an individual along with an entire community, the needs will be met of everyone which ultimately leads to balance. There are many ways to develop an ideal society and help contribute to improvements. An ideal society would consist of a democratic government, fuel efficient modes of transportation, and advanced education systems in smaller schools. First, one area for improvement is government. Having the form of a democratic government helps to ensure every person has an equal say. This allows for balance because one group doesn’t have control over another. The people will learn how to accept the differences of others and the government will insure that the society stays structured and equal. “In a pure, or, direct, democracy, the power to govern lies directly in the hands of the people, who vote individually on each issue” (Hook 10). In this type of government, citizens would have a say by voting for their leaders. Voting helps the society remain balanced because each vote is valued the same. Transportation needs to be fuel-efficient in an ideal society. Most modes of transportation emit harmful gases into the Earth’s atmosphere.
