Educators are expected to show a bit of decorum in their day to day lives; which means that they should behave in a respectable and professional manner. As a teacher, it is important to understand what appropriate behavior is as well as how one is expected to apply this in their everyday lives. Moreover, teachers also need to recognize the connection between how they present themselves and how other’s perceive them. A professional teacher should demonstrate and practice a high level of understanding for proficient, acceptable, and respectful behavior inside and outside of the classroom, because anything less may have a negative impact on their career or reputation.

This means that a teacher should dress in a way that reflects positively on their level of skills and behave in a way that is becoming of an educator. A teacher who looks like they have poor hygiene or wears jeans and a t-shirt to work may not have the same level of respect from their students, families, and faculty as a teacher who comes to work looking nice and in dress clothes such as business or business casual. This is because some people may think that the person in the jeans with the messy hair does not care enough about how they look; which can lead to assuming that they do not care about other aspects in their life, including their students, work, or relationships. This can be done by translating materials that need to be sent home or by imploring a translation app or individual to speak for them during face to face interactions. One way parents are able to build trust for a teacher is through knowing what is going on their child’s classes; however, this also means that teacher may have to make an extra effort to communicate this information with some students and their families. Another aspect of communicating as an educator is that many people do not understand as much about learning styles, student development, teaching methods, and classroom management as the teacher does. This can become frustrating for a teacher, but a professional educator should not allow these hindrances to stop them from effectively sharing this information with others, nor would they let their emotions impair the way in which they communicate with
