The Impact of Information Technology on Individuals, Society and Organizations Information systems and information technology are important in supporting, maintaining and enriching many aspects of livings. They bring benefits to lives of individuals, operations of business and the functioning of society but there are also drawbacks associated with technology and information system. Both good and bad impacts of information system and technology to individuals, organisations and the society will be discussed in detail in the following paragraphs. The rapid development of information systems and technology brings some positive effects to individuals. In order to use information systems effectively, individuals need to acquire skills and knowledge on using different computer technology. Take an example of an individual working in a project on market research, he needs to learn the way to use spreadsheets for analysing the data. The new knowledge acquired by the individuals will lead to upskilling effect. The innovation of technology brings a lot more new channels of communication, such as e-mail and instant messaging applications, it increases interaction between individuals. The barriers of location is eliminated by technology, people can communicate with one another in anywhere around the world through Internet. This paper analyses the impact IT has had on business and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of IT for business today. Today the technology is so advanced, information technology is nearly applied in any filed. Next I will describe it from application of IT in business and application of IT on education. And I will introduce IT simply and concretely introduce IT on education. Although IT makes it convenient to run the business, it also has both advantages and disadvantages.

Effectively integrating information technology (IT) into an organization’s business processes is critical if the organization wants to increase productivity and remain profitable. IT includes items such as the systems software, application software, computer hardware, and the networks and databases that help manage the organization’s information. When implementing quality standards and processes that are forever changing in the IT world, organizations must balance these changes while continuing to rapidly implement new systems technologies in order to stay competitive.
The Internet has changed the way people interact with each other and entertain themselves. It has changed the way business is done. It has also changed the way people date, commit crime, and interview for jobs, it has even changed health care, among many other things. Technology and the Internet are not going away and the need for people to adapt is prominent. Internet is so prominent in Management Information systems. There are Internet based information systems. These systems are important because they can improve company efficiency. These systems can house data with extreme efficiency. Internet based information systems leave the possibilities of efficiency unlimited. Technology is only going to expand farther and new ways to communicate digitally will be introduced into businesses. It has already altered the way we interact with one another, and consumers to suppliers.
The recent revolution of internet and dot-com boom has brought more people familiar to computers and the Internet. It seems like that we can hardly find our way through everyday life with out using or having an internet connected computer next to us. The way we think, live, and communicate was changed once for all with the invention of networked communication of computers. Computers are no longer a piece of machine that sits on top of our desk for us to admire the marvelous technology brought by the geeks and freaks of 80's, but for us to constantly use and put in to work. And in a way, environment which we live in, the society, schools, jobs, forces us to make friends with that technology. Just like when you don't have a telephone you will have hard time communicate with meeting with your friends, absence of instant messaging programs, or ability to use one, will place you out of the circle of events happening with the friends, or don't let you do the work as fast or as good as the one who uses the technology. This is one of the reasons why increasing number of people choose to have computers and internet as a prime communication tool not only between friends and for socialization, but for everyday life. People are increasingly finding new ways of getting things done not by the waiting at the other end of the phone line, but clicking the way through a certain web pages, or typing their message on emails and messenger program. On-line part of the business of almost all industries, not only limited to the dot-com companies but other 'traditional' businesses as well, has been increasingly finding it self positioning more valuable and growing in potential. We are all too familiar with the online shopping sites and class websites that we use almost everyday in a very handy way of getting things done.
The influence of the computer technology is mainly manifested on the internet in daily lives. In the 20th century, mass media went through network improvements around the world. Information technology, digital and networked information communication has brought human free, convenience and interaction. The wide application of information technology improves the working efficiency. It not only helps individuals to get relaxed, but also extend the circle of friends; however, this can be problematic for some individuals as well. Improvement in computer technology may lead to over dependence on the computer, social deficit and changes of communication.
Computer technology not only has solved problems but also has created some, including a certain amount of culture shock as individuals attempt to deal with the new technology. A major role of computer science has been to alleviate such problems, mainly by making computer systems cheaper, faster, more reliable, easier to use.
== The impact of ICT on society is great. As more and more people begin to work from home, or jobs become de-skilled, computer based, the social implications are going to be very serious. The most important issue is increased leisure time, and as more work is done in less time, the result should mean more leisure time. In some rare cases this does happen.
Technology has changed modern society drastically, both positively and negatively. Technology has influenced every aspect of our life, making it simpler but not necessarily better. Albert Einstein was concerned about the advancement of technology. "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction."1 Undoubtedly, what has changed the most are communication, the spread of information, and how business is practiced. Consequently, practically everyone knows how to use a computer, connect to the Internet, or use a smartphone. This is demonstrated by the way the Internet is used daily by millions of people to communicate, to sell, advertise, retrieve, and share information. Thanks to the Internet, information from anywhere in the world is at our fingertips. As a result, the advancement of technology has changed our life in many ways including; sharing of information, communication, business, education, social interaction, simplifying everyday tasks, replacing basic skills and jobs.
