From the time Adolf Hitler came into office in 1933, up to the time when Germany surrendered to the Allied forces and Hitler committed suicide in 1945; the future for Germany became strongly invested in the hands of the younger generations. The Hitler Youth was a paramilitary organization formed in 1926. It gave kids excitement, adventure and new heroes to idolize. Hitler admired young kids drive, energy and strong love for Germany. He recognized these qualities and made it part of his plan to control the future world but the real question is why did Adolf Hitler pick children for his future? The education and the lack of schooling in independent thinking that instilled the ideology that brainwashed the Hitler- Jugend and eventually led some to their graves. Throughout this paper you will be gaining knowledge about the Hitler Youth; the history of the organization, the education the youth went thru and the military involvement towards the end of World War II.
The Hitler Youth was an organization of the Nazi Party that was officially formed at the second Reichsparteitag (Reich Party Day) on July 4th, 1926; Kurt Gruber was its leader. The Hitler Youth was made up of three sections, two for boys and one for girls. The Hitler Jugend proper (HJ) for male youth age 14 to 18, the younger boys section, Deutsches Jungvolk (German Youth) for those aged 10 to 14. And the girls section age 10 to 18, the Bund Deutcher Madel (the league of German Girls).
1933 was the year that changed the future of the HJ. Hitler was appointed Chancellor on January 30, 1933 and formally entered office in March of 1933. Hitler then disbanded over 400 youth groups and encouraged the youths’ for the canceled groups to join the HJ. Due to Hitler’s demolishing ...

In august of 1940 Arthur Axman became the new HJ leader; he was much stricter with guidelines and activies than Baldur von Schirach; who became Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter of Austria. The young HJ were ordered to act more like adult Nazis than before. They were trained to be the elite of their generation; they were to be the future of Germany. The training of the future elite was carried out by a three teir system: first the Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalt or Napola which is the national political educational institution and the Adolf Hitler Schools. Second the Ordensburgen the brotherhood castles, and finally the Hohe Schulen the advanced schools. This was the ultimate form of brainwashing because the young boys were removed from their parents’ homes and a young age and became young Hitler soldiers.
