The Bolshevik Revolution took place in 1917, during the final phase of World War I. It removed Russia from the war and brought the transformation of the Russian Empire into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), replacing Russia’s traditional monarchy with the world’s first Communist state, The revolution was the second phase of the Russian Revolution, which had two revolutions, one in February and one in October (also called the Bolshevik Revolution), which was by a number people taking over the government called “the Bolsheviks”.
The Russian Revolution of 1917 centers around these two primary events: the February Revolution and the October Revolution. The February Revolution removed Czar Nicholas II from power, and the October Revolution (also called the Bolshevik Revolution) overturned the provisional interim government and established the Soviet Union.
After the unification of Germany between 1861 and 1891, which accelerated its military and political power, Russia too felt it should industrialize. A man named Sergei Witte, who was Minister of Finance from 1892-1903. Almost single-handedly pushed Russia into its industrialization. He knew that Russia needed something to start her on the road to industrialization. Witte's efforts made industrial advances from 1892 to 1910. Between 1880 and 1914, Russia had a growth rate of 3.5%. This would have surely brought Russian higher in the rank of industrial and economic world powers, it was said that all Russia needs are 20 years of peace, without war and it will not be at risk of revolution, but unfortunately in 1904, Russia commenced a year long war with Japan. ...wed and capitalized on the February Revolution of the same year, which overthrew the Czarist autocracy and established a provisional government composed predominantly of former nobles and aristocrats. During this time, urban workers began to organize into councils wherein revolutionaries criticized the provisional government and its actions. The Bolshevik Revolution or the October Revolution in Petrograd overthrew the provisional government and gave the power to the local Soviets “the Bolsheviks” faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party. This immediately initiated the establishment of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic, the world's first self-proclaimed socialist state. As the revolution was recognized outside of Petrograd, it was followed by the struggles of the Russian Civil War (1917–1922) and the creation of the Soviet Union in 1922.
