BASF stands for Baden Aniline and Soda Factory, which was established in 1865 by Friedrich Engelhorn. BASF is the world’s largest chemicals and plastic manufacturing company and its headquarters is in Ludwigshafen, Germany. BASF has clients in more than 200 countries and supplies its products to a number of industries. It products include chemicals, plastics, fertilizers, dyes and pigments, inks and printing accessories, oil and gas. The main strategy of BASF is “We Create Chemistry for a sustainable future”. By the end of 2013, BASF employed 112,206 employees and posted sales of €73.97 billion. A responsible citizen continues to bring changes in the society. In the same way, BASF also focus on projects that are related to corporate philosophy – Kid’s lab, Science Express, Water Sanitation disability project in India and Fighting Corruption in Public life.
The Kid’s lab was first established in Germany in 1997, and now it is available in 16 countries all over the world. Since 2010, more than 20,500 people have taken part in Kids' Lab programs all around the United States, Canada and Mexico. BASF partnered with Liberty Science Center to present Kid’s lab. The kid’s lab is a hand-on experiment for the children between the ages 6 to 12. Kids' Lab projects will run throughout LSC Member Nights all around the year. The Kids’ Lab offers incredible, active projects that urge families to explore and experiment together. This organization between LSC and BASF has helped more than 3,400 kids to find the exciting world of chemistry. Every enthusiastic and intelligent 45-minute lab session concentrates on a different concept of science including "Lively Polymers," "The phun Factor," "Operation Filtration," and others. In July 2002, BASF PAC was established and the BASF employees have active part in achieving the objective. In a joint effort by BASF and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the organization supported a billboard throughout the Vigilance week for the span of a month in order to awaken public opinion. The caption read: "Corruption is cancer - Let us fight it together" and was displayed at strategic locations all over the city of Mumbai. The BASF PAC exercises are progressing with arrangements to lead a review and a paper-composing rivalry within a brief period of time at Chennai, South India. The commencement to achieve the one-millionth citizen in India with the message of fighting corruption proceeds.
