It is fair to assume that a current hegemony in today’s modern society is that everyone knows what Apple Inc. is. However, few people truly know the faces behind the billion-dollar technological empire. Apple Inc. was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne in April of 1976. The technology company was created to help sell Mr. Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer; the company itself was later incorporated into Apple Computer Inc. in January 1977 (Reuters). This was just the beginning of decades of success across all sources of electronic products for Apple. Their astonishing success inspired a multitude of other digital streaming companies such as Tidal, Spotify, and Pandora to offer a very similar service at different costs to expand the market. However, no matter how well Apple Music does, that success pales in comparison to the legendary history of Apple Computers Inc. This technology company helped revolutionize the digital era with a bevy of inventions stemming from Mr.Wozniak’s Apple I Personal Computer. Since the original release, Apple has produced hundreds of new products that were some of the most ground-breaking pieces of technology available at the time (Chapman). Trying to stay ahead of the curve, Apple created the world’s first “smartphone” in the iPhone 3G. This phone/computer/camera/speaker was one of a kind market expansion for Apple and included many first-time features such as a digital keyboard and multi-touch screen. The market expansion proved extremely successful and was then quickly followed up by the iPhone 3GS in 2009 which featured improved speed and a much lighter well-rounded design. These details were then carried onto the next few model designs like the iPhone 4 in 2010 and 4S in 2011. After that, the iPhone 5 made its debut featuring a new lightning charging port and LTE network capabilities (Haselton). Shortly after the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S was released with a yet-again never before seen feature in iTouch scanning. This feature allowed users to scan their fingerprints to unlock the phone and make in-app purchases quicker than typing out a full password. In 2013, Apple unveiled their most affordable phone, the iPhone 5C. This new iPhone was the first available in a variety of fun colors and was also made of a plastic casing rather than aluminum. Following the iPhone 5C came the iPhone 6/6S/6+ in 2015 which featured a much larger screen display, improved cameras, and a lighter design.
