Although the Handmaid’s Tale & veil of roses are both novels of fiction, but they can both participate of real life action, each story of a women life differ significantly. Comparison of two different novel’s with similar themes such as escape, love, and freedom.
The Handmaid’s tale and Veil of Roses both inform us on how women were or may be treated in the world we live in. That comes to show, as empowering as women might feel in today’s society there are other women who still pray and fight for their freedom every day. Women may fight for different kinds of freedom from love, rape, prison, a country, a religion, or marriage. It all comes down to a matter of struggle, which can be very pessimistic for each woman.

The handmaid’s tale and Veil of roses discourse about women. The handmaid’s tale describes women as serf, they are known as the handmaid’s. There jobs are to reproduce for their commander and his wife, after giving birth to one man they are force to give birth to another, thst becomes a role in their life. The veil of roses talks about women in Iran, woman who are forced with religion in Iran. Women are told what to do, how to dress, how to talk and who to marry and they have no say in their very own life.

The handmaid’s tale and the veil of roses have the similar themes escape. In the the handmaid’s tale, the handmaids are assigned to give birth for their commanders and his wife that are having trouble conceiving. Every handmaids wear red, wives wear blue and servants wear green, the reason for the colours are to be identified for who they may be, this makes it hard to escape. After meeting Ike a young American man, Tamila fell for him instantly, he makes her smile and blush every second they talk. Her friendship with Ike has grown stronger. And it is becoming harder for Tamila to ignore the forbidden feelings she has for him. To complicate matters, Tamila has to be brave and share her feelings of Ike with her family; she loves him too much and plans to be with him for the rest of her life. Both characters in the novels The Handmaid’s Tale and Veil of Roses have found their love, but they are too scared to share it; it might cause them their relationship.
