Passion is defined as “a strong and barely controllable emotion.” It is what gives us motivation and a purpose. With all the division and turmoil in our country and in our world, one of my passions is to reach those that the world has given up on. Matthew 5:14-16 reads, “You are the light of the world…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” My faith is an important part of my life and influences the way that I live. My faith is the reason that I have a passion to positively impact the world. Dare I say change the world. I truly believe that every life has a purpose, and everyone deserves a chance. Just think about all the things that would be possible if everyone understand that they are loved by their Creator and came to realize their full potential. Collision is an organization that pairs up neglected and forgotten high school students with mentors. The goal of Collision is to care for the souls of people by creating genuine friendships that lead to discussions about life and Jesus. For some students, this may be one of the only people that has ever shown they care about them. For example, a friend and I played soccer every Friday with Nepali refugees. Through love and by the grace of God, we broke through the walls that most of them had put up. Nowadays, even though we have gone off to college, we are still in contact with those people that we use to play soccer with. Kids that were once always in the principal’s office at school became model students for others to look up to. Kids that were once stuck in self-pity became new people. People that are positively impacting their other friends as well as positively impacting the broken homes that they came
