Majority of Latino based gangs have roots and are structured by two dominate Mexican American criminal organization. With that being said, those two organizations are known as The Mexican Mafia (La eMe) and Nuestra Familia. While many gangs are linked to these two dominate organizations, one gang known as The Fresno Bulldogs(FBD), or formerly knows as F-14(Fresno 14) created their own structure and were founded in the 1960’s in Fresno, California. Although, the gang was originated in central California the gang does not claim neither Surenos(Southern) nor Norte (Northern) affiliation. Not to mention, just how ever gang has its own street codes, call--signs, tattoos, and graffiti so does the FBD. According to an Article by the LA Times named “Getting under their skin”, “Gangsters wear red Fresno State jerseys, decorate themselves with teeth-baring bulldog tattoos and intimidate their enemies with barks and howls”. Not to mention they address each other as “Perro” or “Dog”. Expanding, dominating, and earning respect are primary goals for various of gangs. Considering this, none of these goals can be accomplished without any criminal gang activity occurring. When a criminal organization starts building up a foundation their objective is first to increase their numbers and their territory. According to United gangs, for the most part of the 90’s the Fresno Bulldogs recruited in large groups of members, the gang slowly moved from their hometown and colonized the neighboring areas. Having a strong foundation built lead to the Fresno Bulldogs needing to find a main source of revenue to bring money into the organization.
