Released as an "anti-song" to add humor to their evening show, Ylvis became one of the fastest well-known bands that has gone viral via YouTube. The song originated as playful way to show the general public's lack of knowledge of basic animal sounds. While the song’s genre could be classified as comedy, “The Fox” did peak at number 6 on the Billboard’s Top 100 for three consecutive weeks shortly after its release as a single on September 3rd, 2013. “The Fox” is not only a fun and whimsical but throughout the song the artist explores various animal sounds as well as characteristics of the fox and is ultimately trying to answer the age old question of how a fox communicates.
The song starts off with identifying common sounds that a two year old would be proud to answer. Lyrically nothing too deep but the artist is setting the stage with how there is a list of animals that are commonly known throughout society. The artist’s ethos is first developed in the...

This report is all about the gray wolf. Its scientific name is Canis Lupis. Canis is the Latin word for dog. The genus also includes jackals and coyotes. Lupis is the Latin word for wolf. Gray wolves look similar to German shepherds, but the wolf has longer legs and bigger feet. The color of a gray wolf can range from black to white, but shades of gray are the most common. A unique feature about gray wolves is that the farther north you find them, the larger they are. Males can range from (nose-to-tail) five to six and a half feet and females range from four and a half to six feet. The normal life span of a wolf is about thirteen years, but most wolves don’t live past ten years for numerous reasons. Examples include disease, hunters, etc. The wolves that live in Arctic climates have very thick coats of fur that keeps them warm. Wolves, like all canines, have 42 teeth. Their “fangs”, or canine teeth, are used to grab prey and like a hook. These teeth can be as long as two and a half inches.

Songbirds whistling melodies on the treetops. Windows misty with condensation. Car engines rumbling at a steady frequency; usual characteristics of a dreary September morning symphony. Around this time, an average elementary schooler would be cuddling under their blankets, chowing down on their morning cereal and listening the theme song of Curious George. Not for me, however, as I had to attend school early to have a chance at participating in the before-school band program. Little did I know, walking into that classroom was the most important decision of my life.
