The Federal Civil Service system has to do with the three branches of government executive, legislative, and judicial and their officials. When the system of government first came about many of the officials could not do their jobs effectively because of our new government. We have implemented many things into our system of government to help control all issues that we see today. The bureaucracy is a very important part of the government today and has influenced the world in a large way. There have been many attempts to reforms the Federal Civil Service, such as the Sunshine Act, Various Sunset Laws, contracting our procedures, the performance incentives for employees, and the whistle blower protection. There were both pros and cons while attempting to reform the Federal Civil Service system.
The Government in the Sunshine Act is a law that affects the operations of the federal government, Congress and other federal commissions. It is one of a number of Freedom of Information Acts, intended to create greater transparency in government. All parts of a meeting of an agency shall be open to the public for review and observation. Also, advance notice is given to the public before any meetings take place. Sunshine legislation makes provision for the laws , regulations, contracts and other deal done by the state and its employees, elected and non-elected, to be documented and made completely open to the public and the press. Sunset legislation is a provision in a law stating that, unless it is remade by legislative vote after a period of time, the law will be done with and has no effect on the government. ...y. Congress has passed laws to protect whistleblowers because they protect the accountability of the government and private companies by sharing the truth of their actions. Although there have been laws to protect whistle blowers many still are receiving punishment from corporations today.
Federal Civil Service has undergone many changes, most of them for the better. Overall, the changes that have been made to the Sunshine Act have made a very heavy impact on the ways of the Federal Civil Service. This can be seen as an example through the changes made in whistleblowers, where employees can expose the truth about dishonest companies they work for. It can also be seen in the efforts made to produce efficiency in the bureaucracy. So, yes, there are many pros and cons that can be found in all of these laws, but all in all, it had a positive impact on the United States.
