All You Need to Know About The False Prince By: Seth Crawford The False Prince is a wonderful novel, with an astounding finish. From the exposition to the resolution, Jennifer A. Nielsen masterfully tells the story of Sage’s rise to power in Carthya. She even ends the story, with a mind boggling twist. In this book report you will see how well crafted the book is. The exposition reveals to use the many essential parts of The False Prince. We learn about the main character Sage, who is a poor orphan from the neighboring country. We then learn about the antagonist Bevin Conner, who is a wealthy regent in Carthya’s government. After we were introduced to Conner, we were immediately introduced to two orphan boys named Roden and Tobias and Conner’s vigils; Mott and Kregan. Also, we learn that story is taking place in a medieval country called, Carthya. We lastly learn from the exposition, what the conflict is. The conflict in The False Prince is, the three orphan boys; Sage, Roden, and Tobias will have to compete to become Connor’s fake prince, that will take over Carthya. Whoever loses will die at the hands of Connor’s vigils. …show more content…

The rising action starts off with the boys learning lessons on History, English, sword fighting, and horseback riding. While they are training with swords, we are introduced to a fine sword with a ruby in the hilt that was a replica of the dead prince’s sword that they are trying to pretend to be. During the training it becomes clear that Roden is the best with a sword and Tobias is the most educated. Sage falls in the middle of both of them in terms of each skill. After a couple weeks of training it becomes clear that Sage is the best prince, but he is a wild child who will not be controlled by Connor. We do not for sure who Connor will chose to pretend to be Prince Jaron of
