Introduction
Should the right to life be taken away from an individual just because that person is unable to speak for him/herself? The unborn child is unable to speak for themselves. The number of abortion’s are continuing increasing throughout the world as time goes by. Abortion is the killing of a unborn baby. Abortion is a procedure where the fetus and the placenta is removed from the mother’s womb. It’s morally wrong to deny life to the fetus. There are 125,00 abortions preformed in the world everyday, that is 50 million a year. Everyone deserves to have rights. A fetus is developing into a baby human. A fetus deserves the right to live. “It is a war on the defenseless—and the voiceless. It is a war on the unborn”(p.365). Many may argue that a fetus is not a human, but that is where all human life begins. Religion plays a large role on people’s views on abortion. Many religions think of abortion as the killing of another human. People think of when life begins based on religion, some believing in spiritual life before birth. All life begins at conception. “In the biological sciences, it is known that life begins when two germ cells unite to become one cell, bringing together twenty-three chromosomes from both the father and from the mother(p.367). Fetus’s can’t speak for themselves so others must speak for them. Each one is a potential child that doesn’t even get a chance to live. Pregnancy and life begin at conception, so abortion is murder. All of human life begins at conception. Abortion is ethically wrong and affects many individuals directly or indirectly. The choice of women is very important, but a child’s chance at life outweighs their wants. The fetus deserves a chance at life. The procedure is extremely dangerous for the unborn child and mother. The are serious medical complications that can occur. The freedom to choose is important, but that right doesn’t give someone the right to take away an innocent unborn baby’s life. The child has the right to make that decision themselves. So many times life is taken for granted, but people are so blessed to be able to live. Why would someone try taking that future away from an unborn baby? Even though it will change the person’s life for a little, the person can give the baby up for adoption.
