The Croatian War of Independence

This paper is analysis of The Croatian War of Independence, It was fought between Croatian forces devoted to Croatian the government between 1990-1995, the war started when Croatia declared their independence from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The Serbians had control over the Yugoslavian People’s Army as well as cooperative local Serbian forces.

Croatia intended to break away from Yugoslavia to become an independent country, while Serbians living in Croatia, supported the Yugoslavian war efforts. They combated the withdrawal that Croatia wanted because they wanted Croatia to stay under the control of Yugoslavia, because the Serbs sought to be a new state with new borders in parts of Croatia. The Serbs envisioned themselves as the majority in the country order to bring to make this vision a reality the Serbs attempted to takeover as much of Croatia as they could.

The outbreak of nationalism caused the war in Croatia because, a calamity appeared in which weakened Yugoslavia near the end of the Cold war in the mid 1980s. This led to the inimitable demise of Yugoslavia. When Croatia looked to be an independent outside of Yugoslavia nationalist started to develop ideas while still in the midst of Communists. It become more evident that Yugoslavia would soon become independent states.

The introduction of the amendments to the Serbian constitution in 1989, the calamity in Yugoslavia became worst. With this the Serbian government was able to regain power.

The Rising Conflict

This move helped usher in the Serbian presidency of Slobodan Milošević during his time as president he amassed control of the votes. With this power they were now adept to influence too federal government. This caused conflict in repub...
