Although cell phones are often seen as distractions for students, they can prove to be a great learning tool. The use of cell phones in school allows students to communicate with parents, teachers can connect and communicate with students, and students can access an infinite number of educational apps.

Many people believe if they allow a student to call their parent they will actually use their cell phone irresponsibly. However, many times it is a real emergency or they just want to check in with their parents. Many schools can’t afford computers for every student, our school is fortunate to have this privilege. With the use of these cellular devices, students could have the benefits of using a computer without using all the school funding. To expand, In the online article, “40 Uses For Smartphones in School”, it claims that cell phones are not just used to play games or text, they can be used in a multitude of ways from an educational perspective, this article brings together 40 uses for smart phones in school. There are so many possibilities and a lot of teachers are close minded, all they see is a distraction and a way for students to goof off in class. If teachers closely monitor the use of cell phones, less students will use them inappropriately.
