The Columbian exchange was one of the largest transfer of goods, human population, and etc between the New and Old world. These goods and other things changed the course of both world as we know it. In the Old World, new crops such as corn and potatoes were brought. These crops are able to stand harsh environment and able to grow in short amount of time. To the New World goods such as wheat, onions, and rice were brought. Also, ideas and technology were introduced to New World. However, The things coming from the Old World were contaminated with diseases that nearly wiped out the natives of New World. The people in from the Old World took advantage of the defenseless natives and enslaved them. The natives were forced into cheap and unfair labor. …show more content…

Basically, converting to state religion doesn’t save you free from slavery. The second law was the legalization of killing a slave. By far, this is one of the worst law in the universe. A killing person is morally wrong and since this law legalizes murdering slaves; slaves are less likely to revolt against their treatment.

The Sociedad de Castas is hierarchy system based on race implanted by the Spanish during their rule in Latin America. This system degraded the indigenous and other non- European population. In order for the system to last, the Spanish separated tribe members and force natives to re-education schools; where they learn to adapt European customs. This system allowed Spaniards, born in Europe, to control all the land.

Two of the new technologies that I think has the greatest impact on European exploration are the clock and gunpowder. The clock because explorers can track how long it takes them to get to one place, so they can try to improve their time.
