The butterfly effect Imagine the flapping of the wings of butterfly in Brazil results in hurricane in Texas. This is called the butterfly effect. It means that a small change can result in large differences. The butterfly effect can be seen today in modern society. One example of this is gender inequality. Gender inequality is considered as an important issue for many countries over many years. Especially, women were severely discriminated. Some people insisted that discrimination against women is even more powerful than racism. According to IMF, during the past 50 years half of laws which involve gender discrimination eliminated. However still, 90% of countries have laws that involve gender discrimination at least once. It is true that it may take much time to be eradicated. Governments and companies ought to improve gender equality socially. We have to fight for gender equality as people who wish our better future. Victims of gender equality try not to accept discrimination. When they believe they discriminate against, they should act actively. For example, when the woman was fired because she is female, she has to inform the public about her situation and ask for help. Additionally, some people use their gender in improper way. Some women are tend to rely on men. They don’t work and think they are part of the men. However, they are one of valuable human beings. If they act like that, more people will assimilate into the society of gender inequality. A small change in the thinking can influence country’s economy and even future like the flapping of the wings of distant butterfly. For example, women need to go work and try to express their opinion in the society even they are under restrictions. Then, people will assimilate into society that treats both women and men equally. Bernard Pollack who is famous economist said economic development is a necessary component of greater gender equality, but grater gender equality is just as important to achieve economic growth. Men women are totally different. But difference does not mean it is wrong. We need both men and women in society and they need to cooperate with each other.
