The world 's population has been increasing exponentially since the early 18th century. In the 20th century, the world 's population was approximately quadrupled as it jumped from 1.5 to 6.1 billion people. As the population increases, one of the main concerns for engineers will be to harness and manipulate the energy in a way that it can sustain the world. When the population was lower at the beginning of the 20th century, it was very easy to maneuver energy in a way that it could support everyone in the world. However, as the population started to escalate, it become more difficult to harness and manipulate the energy. Over the past couple of decades, engineers have been very successful at harnessing and manipulating the energy as they found Renewable energy is derived from natural resources such as wind, rain, sunlight, waves, and much more. Over the years, engineers have found various efficient ways to use and harness the renewable energy. One of the main advantages of this type of energy is the fact that it can be used for a long period of time without it being dispatched. Also, this type of energy is cleaner and much more beneficial to the environment since it results in a very little amount of greenhouse gas emission. Renewable energy is also cheaper and more affordable compared to any other sources of generated energy. Due to these advantages of the renewable energy, engineers have decided to find more efficient ways of using renewable energy. Over the past couple of decades, engineers have been successful at finding more efficient ways to harness and manipulate the renewable One of the main types of renewable energy that we have used the most is the wind energy. Wind energy is the energy produced from the power of the wind. Throughout the 20th century, wind energy was used by sailboats as a fuel to move the boat in different directions. In the past, this was the most frequent way for shipment of goods. Sailboats were also used as a method of transportation. Also, wind energy is used to power wind turbines and convert the wind energy into electricity. Without the wind energy, the production of electricity and the shipment of goods would have been very difficult and perhaps life on earth might have perished. Thus, the efficient ways of using the renewable energy such as wind energy has played an enormous role to our existence and it has made engineers more successful at harnessing
