The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought between the American Colonist troops, under the Command of Colonel William Prescott, against the British Army on June 17, 1775, during the Siege of Boston. The American Colonist troops lost the battle to the British Army. The British Army took control of the hill after the third attack; the ill-equipped Colonist ran out ammunition and retreated into Charlestown. Although the Americans lost the battle, the casualties were 400 American men and the British Army had more than 1000 fallen Soldiers. This battle was one of the earliest and bloodiest battles that began the American Revolution. Majority of the battle took place at the Breed’s Hill that was adjacent to Bunker Hill.
