The objective of each day is to live a life of purpose, a life full of meaning. The achievement of upward mobility is a goal for all human beings. See the idea is to work as hard as you can and in result be rewarded for your efforts. Unfortunately, life is full of trials and tribulations; the answer to the problem is to be resilient, to be efficient, to be positive, and to be productive. Although money is the root to all evil, it is also a blessing that constantly liberates us from poverty. Many may say money is the way to reach the american dream and this is a valid opinion. As stated in the declaration of Independence “All men are created equal” and have the right to “ life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” but as time continues, it is increasingly harder to do so. One such idea is regarding the discussion of whether the american dream is achievable or not. On the one hand, I would argue that The American dream is possible for all. On the other hand, however, the opposing view is that success is permanently suppressed not allowing the american dream to be tangible. In the words of Adam Shepard, who champions the first viewpoint when suggesting “I'm working my way up just like the next guy, and now I'm back in Raleigh, North Carolina, and I'm, you know, working as a skycap at the airport, and I'm working to get this message out to say hey guys, listen. Here is your life, and if you're poor or rich, if you make $8 or $50 an hour, if you live in a nice house or a little apartment or in a homeless shelter, you have your life ahead of you. ” (audio 1).
