The American Dream The American Dream has been around since the dawn of America. The chance to have success that you otherwise couldn’t achieve. The American Dream according to Fitzgerald is one that it is unattainable for all; the dream of achieving real happiness through gaining more possessions or status. But people will never be really happy with their lives because they are shallow and corrupt.
