God: Most importantly I am thankful for God and his Goodness. I state this for the following reasons without giving thanks to him you will be scared and anxious in the things you want in life. With prayer and thanks God allows your request become reality. So giving thanks and praising his name is essential. I am so thankful that I don’t have to walk this journey on earth alone.
Faith: In order to conquer the world going through different hardships and unexpected events creates faith. Without being thankful for the strong faith I have, I would not be where I am today. Faith is unseen but it’s the idea of trusting something versus trying to be convinced to believe them. Faith is not believing God can but knowing that he will. My faith is strong. I am thankful for my faith.
Granddad: Over the years I and my grandfather relationship went from being best friends to frenemies. But overall I am thankful for him. He provided me with the love and care I need from a father figure. He made sure that I did whatever I needed to reach my full potential. He showed me the importance of having grandparents. He was able to

She provided me with guidance, support and love. I have learned when you have a daughter she should be your mini me. That you are supposed to supply her with wisdom, full her with love and happiness and make sure she knows her worth. If you do just that, she will grow up and be a beast. She will not allow nothing to knock her down or get in her way. She will not be stopped and will accomplish every dream she set for herself. More importantly she will have the crazy-spoiled attitude out this world. Having a mother who is stronger and does not allow nothing to break her is just one out of many reasons why I am thankful for mine. I am thankful for believing in herself that she was able to raise to kids on her
The fourth component of faith is that we need to understand that faith can act as fear, fascination, or both of these qualities at the same time. The fifth component of faith is that doubt is a major product that will always exist with faith. The last component of faith is that we need a community in order to have a “language of faith”. In Flannery O’Connor’s short story
Common curtesy has us saying “Thanks” to the point that we may have lost the intentions associated with the response. W.S. Merwin sums up this anomaly in his poem “Thanks”, saying “with nobody listening we are saying thank you” (Merwin 29). We say thanks for so many meaningless things that it no longer carry’s the true intent of the speaker. Instead it is a response to acknowledge the receiver rather than giving true thanks. This repetition allows for questions regarding what are we truly thankful for, and how we make this known to the receiver. Carl Dennis, in his poem, “Thanksgiving Letter From Harry”, struggles with this question. Not seeing himself thankful for all the negative atrocities around him, he tries to find something he can stand up and be thankful for with limited success, “I’m, thankful today I don’t reside in a country/My country has chosen to liberate” (Dennis 2-3). Generic overuse of such a simple, but meaningful word, has made saying “thanks” somewhat mundane, making it harder to express their gratitude to the receiver seamlessly.
Nothing symbolizes faith more than living everyday life and believing that all things are possible. When faith is executed, it brings out the best in people and the human spirit. It becomes a shelter from “the dust.” It was complicated to describe the human spirit how it powers our ability to forgive without also covering faith and hope. As mentioned before, they are all interconnected and cannot be separated.
If you were to take a survey on views of faith, you would come up with a million different definitions. To me, faith is taking risks in situations where there is no fear of the outcome. Faith is confidence, sureness, and bravery. If you have no faith, then you have no reason to go out in the world and survive. Faith is also a positive mindset and energy you embody. According to the book, “What is Faith?”, the author, Terrence W. Tilley feels that faith is a relationship between the one who has faith and the irreducible energizing source of meaning and center of value in one’s life. In the definition, “One” means the object of faith and the relationship between them. He takes the concept of faith from a late writer, David Foster Wallace, to key point his argument in the book. Wallace’s concept was that we don’t understand what faith is and how faith shapes the course of our lives. Tilley supports his claim by discussing the common misunderstandings of faith.
I will explore the relationship between faith and belief. At first glance, most of us will have the same thought that there is no difference between faith and belief. However, if we carefully examine them in detail, we will recognize their differences. Consider the difference in the meaning of “belief” in the following propositions: “I believe it will rain tomorrow” and “I believe 2+2=4.” Our general purpose is to express our thoughts to others and show them what things we want to believe. Shortly, our belief can be changed depending on our mood or our different cultures. When we’re talking about our faith, we must keep it in constancy. We can not say today our faith is this and tomorrow is on another. Therefore, the difference between faith and belief can be express as: faith is constant, and belief is varied. Faith shows “X-experiences and pre-cu...
The definition of faith is, as a strong belief or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. The fact that someone has faith doesn’t mean that they won’t face difficult circumstances, such as renunciation, the loss of a loved one, or deception; rather they trust in their god or gods to carry them through their troubling circumstances to the other side. The Great Aten, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Hebrew Bible all includes, aspects of faith; including creation, love, and the loss of a life.
When I recognize the state of gratitude in which my heart is enveloped, I immediately embrace the Grace of God! I would never know true gratitude if it were not for God’s grace.
According to Miriam-Webster, faith is complete trust in something or someone. Faith is not ignoring facts or evidence in spite or what a belief states. In religion, faith is being sure that God’s character is and always will be loving. Faith
now that I am a mother I understand her ways of parenting and thanks to her many lessons
Faith is a human response to God’s Revelation. It is a surrender of our whole self to God’s will and a complete trust in him. Faith is a supernatural gift from God that we must work at in order to grow wiser and to understand God better. Faith can change daily based on the situation and must be worked at every single day. Faith is a supernatural grace that opens our lives to possibilities beyond our day to day experience. Faith is guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Faith is expressed in different practices such as prayer, service, and justice. My faith is moderate at this moment. It is not as strong as it probably should be but it is not low enough to where it would need severe attention. It is that way right now probably because I am constantly surrounded with ant-Christian or anti-God views and it can be difficult to ignore or overcome these views at all times. My Faith is the strongest when I am in the company of other believers and am supported in my Faith. This was especially true when I volunteered for a Luke 18 retreat and was chosen to be a disciple. The responsibilities that came with this job included leading a small group and giving a talk. The weekend really opened my eyes and I grew in faith a lot over the course of the retreat. A time in my life where my faith has been weak was during my seventh grade year of school. I had gone to a Catholic school from kindergarten to sixth grade, but during seventh grade year my family moved and I started going to a public school. This situation really tested my Faith because unlike at my old school, not everyone was Catholic or even Christian. Religion was completely shut out of everything and it was difficult to cope with. This made it hard for me to continue and better my ...
I will use faith to trust in God to give me another day in my life to wake up and spread his word. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1) I trust in someone everyday that I won’t be able to see until the day I die. I use my faith in the little things such as cutting an apple hoping not to cut myself, to going on a plane and trusting god to keep me safe until I get to my destination. There are some days where I just feel like giving up and not trying like Pi did at some times, but with faith I know that I can believe in God to help me through tough times I may have in my life.
She always had smile on her face and she would always see the good in people, no matter how they treated her she would always consider them as her friend. I tried several times to tell her not everyone was her and that she needed to be careful, I guess as mother I was only trying to protect her feeling, but, I guess that was her calling as an angel. When my daughter graduated from the eight grade to go into the ninth grade in High School, together we made lots of plans she was anticipating on getting her driver’s license trying out for the dance team and just attending high school itself was the most exciting event in her life, me on the other hand I was nervous about the ideal that my baby was growing up. It was in August 1994 that I took my daughters for their yearly physicals’ before returning back to school.
We need faith. It is not something to be taken lightly. Faith connects us to the sturdy rock. Without the rock, we have no assurance. The assurance that God will provide you will make you understand why faith is so incredibly important.
As I was an only child I got to spend a lot more time with him. Looking back I really do appreciate the time I got to spend with him. From as young as I can remember I looked up to my dad. I wanted to be just like him.
Many people, as well as myself, believe that a mother’s influence is one of the most important influences that one will ever come in contact with in their lives. A mother’s love, comfort, and support will often help to shape a child and allow them to become the person they need to be later on in life. My mother has had a great influence on my life from day one. I often refer to her as my “rock” because she is definitely a solid foundation in my life. Being that she is a great role model, my mother’s support and presence in my life has allowed me to grow as a person, keep my spirits high through hell and high water, prosper in all that I have done, as well as mold me to be a great person in the future.
