Most people are connected with their phones that they are not able to ignore a text message while driving. The problem of texting while driving cannot be solved.
As many, no doubt has experienced a narrow escape while texting and driving. When looking at the text message, those five seconds is enough time to distract the driver and cause the driver to bump/crash into another car. That accident can damage both cars and even take lives. When driving around, most people can glance and notice other drivers driving using their cell phones. Even when stopped at a red light, just look around and see how many drivers you can count using their cellphones. The number of drivers using their phones may or may not surprise you. Now people see it happening around them and think it is acceptable and that they are invisible. The article covered Liz Marks story of her accident while texting and driving. She, like most teenagers, adored her phone. She could not “survive” without her phone because she likes being “connected” with her friends through social media. One day she was driving, while driving she received a text from her mom. She looked at the text and at that instant she crashed. The crash left her blind in one eye, trouble hearing, not able smell well, not able to shed tears, and not able to sleep without medication.
