Malaysia has many berths and terminals that handling dry bulk cargoes such as Johor Port Bulk and Break Bulk Terminal (BBT), Prai Bulk Cargo Terminal (PBCT), Penang port, Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn. Bhd., Westports, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd., and Port Klang. Johor Port Bulk and Break Bulk Terminal (BBT) currently operate 8 berths. North Port have five berths that have been designated for handling dry bulk cargo. Westport handling 4 berths that each measuring 200 metres in length and 15 metre in depth and are capable of handling ships of up to 80,000 tonne capacity. Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn. The loading and unloading system in dry bulk terminals increase the efficiency of handling. Dry bulk terminal systems such as Cargotec that provides engineering solutions and equipment, such as loading and unloading bulk cargo with a wide range of capacities, conveying systems and storage systems. DSH Systems' hopper is the one of the dry bulk technology that designed to streamline handling by Alex Hughes. DSH Systems' hopper concentrates on the discharge stream to suppress dust. The added benefit of reduced clean-up around loading operations is a strong incentive for intelligent loading equipment. Dry bulk cargo utilized 500 metres of berth. The inner berth of 154 meters allows for handling both dry and liquid bulk cargo. Perai Bulk Cargo Terminal (PBCT) handling more than 3.5 million tonnes of dry-bulk every year. Nearly 67% of dry bulk tonnage was handled at PBCT alone. The Butterworth Wharves and the Perai Wharf handled the remaining 33% of dry-bulk cargo that about 1.18 million tonnes. Import of scrap metal classified as dry-bulk also takes place at Butterworth Wharves and in Perai Bulk Cargo Terminal. Perai Wharf undertakes the import and handling of coal. Perai Bulk Cargo Terminal has 33.99 hectares in size and nearly 111,000m2 of covered warehouse space and about 4.6 hectares of open stockpile area.
