In today’s society there are plenty of people who think that television is positive effects and influences on our American culture. It provides useful information about what is going on in the world and also give us numerous forms of education and entertainment. How does television effect our youth today? Television is becoming more and more significant in children lives. How can we determine what are children are taking away from television isn’t good thing?
Television plays a major positive part in children's daily activities. Children need this type of learning experience along with the basic reading, writing, and arithmetic. Television is not only good for their education but also for their imagination. Children need to learn at an early age that anything and everything is possible. It provides real life images, sounds, and interaction that kids brain need to grasp certain concepts. It is amazing how the teachers could be trying to their class a word all day, but they learn a word on television. Then go home and tell their parents the word that they learned. People learn things in different ways. Sometimes it is harder for some adults to grasp a concept than others. So when it comes it children it is even more of a challenge. Kids need patience and have to be able to relate to certain concepts to grasp them. For example: “Dora the Explorer” is a television shows where pre-school kids can learn how to say simple words and numbers is English and Spanish. The show makes the kids interact with Dora by answering her questions, singing songs to help her solve problems, and also identifying different colors, shapes and objects. The show help expands kids interaction with adult and more important with other kids. Most of the time if kids hear something over and over they will pick it up and start saying
