Technology and Media Create Alienated Humans

Humans have subsisted throughout the eras by evolving physically and spirituality. Then, based on this humanistic evolution, culture appeared and gave humans unique identities according to their geographical situation. This allows the creation of art and technological discoveries. However, today, humans live in a massive technological world; where, the use of technology is not a tool anymore but an essential resource for human survival. This dependency on technology is the result of a constant persuasion from the mass media; therefore it has stopped the evolution of human kind and generated the human crisis of the society. Humans have conquered the external world of material things with a tragic risk of losing balance of their internal world. In this case, mass media, the principal responsible of the vanishment of culture, has been used to promote behaviors of consumerism, individualism and stereotyping minorities in the country. As a result, humans has obtained a new identity of isolation and dehumanization
The lethargy in which people live is mainly due to the passivity of the crowded environment of the world. Society tend to conform by focusing their lives on material things and elements that make lose sensitivity to the issues that surround today's society. In the movie Blade Runner by Ridley Scott, it exists beneath the superficiality of the city a society totally alienated due to technology. The film represents an overcrowded society and individually isolated. This is one of the paradoxes of modern life. Meanwhile people are more depended on technology; at the same time, they are dehumanized; that is, people devalue the circumstances and chances that make them feel alive, free and true. ... In other words, instead of creating communication with others, the social media let people lose connection with the society and it isolates individuals. Digital communications transform the way that humans communicate with others; that is, the relationships become indirect and disaffected. As a consequence, humans acquire a deep existential loneliness due to the lack of communication.
To conclude, alienation in society is the systematic result of today's capitalist system, the abusive use of technology and mass media. As it was stated before, mass media reinforces the ideas of materialism, discrimination and individualism on society. Humans have been isolated as a result of the constant manipulation and bad information coming from music, films and news. Therefore, it is demonstrated that media works in function of specific agenda to manipulate the whole society.
