The internet, everyone knows about it and most people use it, but is technology blinding us and make us naive to the people and things around us? Are we becoming a generation of selfish, and shallow people who every day become more close minded? I know some people might say that technology has empowered our world and has given us many more opportunities than ever. That part is true, but what I believe is that it had more of an effect on our character rather than the way we use it.

Back then the world was very unaccepting, but now we are more accepting to different cultutres, opinions, and sexuallities. So why is it still a problem in our world today? Why can't everyone be accepting no matter what race, size, gender, etc? That is because although our advantages with technology grew our minds …show more content…

Almost everything we do revolves around technology. In the morning we turn off our alarms we put on our phones the night before to wake us up, then we use our highly advanced cars to take us to work and school. We get to school and work on projects, but look up information on wikipedia instead of in our text books.We read, write, and test on computers every class has either chromebooks or laptops ready for us to use. In chapter 1 page 16 Nicholas Carr writes ” But my brain, I realized, wasn’t just drifting. It was hungry. It was demanding to be fed the way the Net fed it — and the more it was fed, the hungrier it became. Even when I was away from my computer, I yearned to check e-mail, click links, do some Googling.
