When writing the script I tried to include as many ideas and events from the scene in the skit. In the beginning of my skit. I included the scene where Katherine finally gets to eat food for the first time in a while. To modernize this scene into my reality TV skit I made one of the anchors of the tv show arrive late to the set. The excuse for arriving late to the set was that he overslept. The anchor also complained about not eating for a while because of all the work he had to do. In the Taming of a Shrew, Lucentio allows Katherine to eat. In my skit allowed Peter to let Carter eat on the set of the show. Also in the play, Lucentio brings Katherine to a tailor and a haberdasher to try on clothes for a wedding. Lucentio says that the clothes look bad and Katherine says that she loves the clothes that the tailor and the haberdasher made. In my skit, Peter says that he hates the clothes that his friend brought. While Carter says that he loves the clothes that Peter’s friends got. In both the play and in my skit there are big arguments over the appearance of the clothes. To add, the arguments that Katherine and Lucentio had included a lot of comparisons. An example is Lucentio making a joke about how the dress have awful cuts, then he said that a barber most likely made the cuts on the dress. In my skit, I made a similar statement saying that the pants looked like they had stitches that a doctor would make. Finally in the play, Lucentio and Katherine get in argument over which time they should leave for the wedding. Katherine eventually gets threatened by Lucentio and ends up agreeing with Lucentio even though he is wrong. In my skit Carter and Peter argue over what time the party starts. The life of a child in the 1930-1940 was not an easy life not if you were a Nazi, not if you were Jewish. These Children lost their childhood because of a war. Their shattered childhood creates stories that seem horrific to us today. Life as a child growing up in a Nazi family is probably easier than dealing with the problems that the Jewish children have. However, every Nazi child had to sign up for the Hitler Youth. The Hitler Youth was an organization to discipline young minds and preach to them about anti semitism. Hitler Youth was one of the largest youth groups in Europe at the time if parents did not have their children in it they would face fines or have charges of imprisonment. The Nazi regime brainwashed the kids, they made them aggressive and intolerable. In the group there was even a small ‘Gestapo’ that would make sure all the children were doing the correct task if not the ‘Gestapo’ would report this. In conclusion, Shakespeare does it again with Taming of the Shrew. On the surface, there is Kate who seems to be off the wall and kinda crazy but at the end of the play, you realize that by acting this way and learning “life’s little secrets,” she gets the life she always wanted.

Holocaust Hero: A One of a Kind Man. What is a hero? A hero can be classified as a number of things. A hero can be a person who, in the opinions of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal.
What is genocide? “Genocide is a deliberate, systematic destruction of racial cultural or political groups.”(Feldman 29) What is the Holocaust? “Holocaust, the period between 1933-1945 when Nazi Germany systematically persecuted and murdered millions of Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and many other people.”(Feldman 29) These two things tie into each other.The Holocaust was a genocide. Many innocent people were torn apart from their families, for many never to see them again. This murder of the “Jewish people of Europe began in spring 1941.”( Feldman 213) The Holocaust was one of the most harshest things done to mankind.
When suddenly Baz Luhrmann nineteen minutes into his work presents a drag Mercutio dressed scandalously in a ridiculous white wig and wearing red lipstick to top it all off, it seems he has no regard for the original Romeo and Juliet. In his portrayal of a character as crucial as Mercutio, Luhrmann crosses the fine line between the individual possessing eloquence and profuse wit Shakespeare creates, and a downright maniac. Before entering the Capulets’ mansion Mercutio’s acclaimed Queen Mab Speech in Act One, Scene Four, displays the aforementioned eloquence and vivid imagination of the character. Specifically, Mercutio claims, “Oh, then I see you’ve been with Queen Mab/...True, I talk of dreams,/Which are the children of an idle brain,/Begot of nothing but vain fantasy,”(I iv 53, 97-99). Anyone with a rational mind does not expect Mercutio to deliver his lines about dreams being merely the result of the anxieties and desires of those who sleep while holding ecstasy and jumping agitatedly. Luhrmann offers an insane Mercutio in his take on Romeo and Juliet and all it achieves is a massacre of the brilliance of the dialogue. The unconventional director stages the exchange to end with Romeo accepting a psychoactive drug inducing him in a euphoric state, then shattering any proceeding potential romantic mood.
A long time ago, a drunken man fell asleep outside an alehouse. This man, Christopher Sly, was discovered by a mischievous lord who took him into his home. The witty lord then convinced Sly that he was a lord, as well. The lord then put on a play for him. The play, The Taming of the Shrew, was about the two young daughters of Baptista. The youngest daughter, Bianca, wished to wed but her father, Baptista, would not allow this until his eldest daughter, Katherina, was married. Under normal circumstances, it would be easy to find a husband for Katherina with all her beauty, but all her beauty was covered by her shrewd personality. By this time Bianca's suitors were growing very impatient, so they decide to team up and find a husband for Katherina. In jest they mentioned their plan to a friend, Petruchio, who surprisingly agreed to marry Katherina. All her beauty and wealth were enough for him. Katherina reluctantly was wed to Petruchio and she was taken to his home to be tamed. With Katherina out of the way, Bianca was now allowed to marry Lucentio, who offered her father the highest dowry for her. In the final scenes of the play, Katherina proves that she is tamed by winning an obedience contest at a dinner party. Katherina is now even more in accordance with her wifely duties than Bianca. Another way that this leads to controversy is when Friar Lawrence agrees to the marriage, but it is clearly expressed through the play that he is not happy with the marriage. The Holocaust was one of the most tragic and trying times for the Jewish people. Hundreds of thousands of Jews and other minorities that the Nazis considered undesirable were detained in concentration camps, death camps, or labor camps. The costuming in the beginning of the scene were unfaithful to the text. However, the prop presented in the film could relate to one of the themes in the play; Impulsiveness of Youth, making it faithful to the text. At the beginning of the play we can be identified as the bridegroom and the mother had a problem about knives. The Mother cursed the person who created the knives because one member of the Felix’s family killed her son with a knife.
