Technology originates way back to the dawn of human beings, it is a thing that reduces our efforts in anything we do. From the fire and the wheel to supercomputers and supersonic jets, it regularly evolves proportionately from our growing intellect. It is constantly changing our lives, by introducing increasing efficiency and effectiveness in anything we do, even how we conduct business and how it communicates. As the newer technologies are introduced, most of the time it completely replaces the older technology so it is only logical to consider the last twenty years because only the technology in this timeframe has mostly affected the communication inside and outside of businesses, as they are known today. It is communications of a business that is what makes business distinguishable from rest of the other businesses; it basically gives a business its identity.

Although the purpose of technology is to influence anything we do in a positive way, but as it is not a perfect world we live in, there is always negative side of things, this includes negative impacts of the use of technology in communications in the Businesses. These negative impacts can be created both knowingly and unknowingly at a time when new technology is created.

Technology exponentially increased convenience in communications in business. From day-to-day waiting for a letter to a lightning fast email, phone calls and video conferencing over thousands of kilometres. Not only it covers time and distance, it is cheaper and reliable. The speed in which business has also increased relatively from these tools, especially for those that does businesses with customers. It also enables them to offer customer services and feedback from customers.

The reliability of technology creates illusion of certainty in everyone’s mind, making him or her highly dependable on it.
