Literature is indicative of society and one of the most enduring elements is the notion of love and relationships. There are distinct stages of love for different stages of life. Author T. Coraghessan Boyle's “The Love of My Life” is not meant as a romantic love story, but as a story based on the premise or idea of love. The story is really based on the selfish acts of two privileged teens that commit an atrocity that not many people can understand: neonaticide or more commonly referred to as infanticide. A life taken before it even had a chance to begin.
