MILITARY FACTOR: Measures a member’s ability to bring credit to the Coast Guard through personal demeanor and professional actions.

1. Military Bearing:

• This member has presented herself in a military manner and has maintained her uniform with great care. As a member of the Sector Lake Michigan Honor’s and Ceremonies team she attends numerous functions that require her to present herself in a positive way to the public. This Includes dry cleaning her bravos every month to insure a sharp look and buying new uniform items. She also has dyed all her uniforms for a sharper and brand new looking uniform. PO Mohler also has to keep her military bearing during these events.

Her dedication to working out has resulted in a two minute time difference in her mile and a half. Her last PT assessment she ran the mile and a half in under 11:30. When two days were allowed this member took full advantage of working out in the morning and afternoon. This member attempts to work out twice a day resulting in over two and half hours a day dedicated to working out. Going beyond simple phone and e-mail conversations she strives to achieve as much face to face communications with these members to foster an environment of respect and support. She remains respectfully to all personnel she has to deal with foe military funeral honors and MISLE. Even when providing training to those superior to her at the range or at their unit she strives to make all parties feel comfortable and willing to learn.

5. Human Relations:

• This member shows the upmost respect to every member she works with and trains. She trains everyone of the same level of professionalism regardless of differences.

6. Adaptability:

• This member has demonstrated an ability to handle stressful situations. She has assisted stations when needed. As a single mom she had made arrangements to accommodate her work with her personnel life. She often volunteers to help units around sectors AOR which sometimes is requested at last minutes. This member also holds the duty phone for MFH and has to ensure these MFH is are issued out for SLM’s AOR. This includes coming in weekends, and on leave to accomplish this task.

7. Judgment:

• This member as an FAI, and BO is required to show consistent and exemplary judgment in a strenuous environment to provide an adequate level of safety in whatever mission she has been assigned.
