The Role of Women
The contemporary situation connected to the gender relations between men and women went through a long way of shaping and can be considered the result of the contributions of many people both negative and positive. Every epoch is characterized by the individuals who influenced it in terms of changing the status of females in the society. Some of them were fighting and achieved fruitful results and became symbols and role models. In order to get a better understanding of how the role of women transformed, it would be interesting and informative to take a look at the dialogue between two centuries, between two women who fostered changes. I was happy to know that due to the active actions taken in this direction, women received a number of opportunities for realization. The most significant progress made can be found in the educational segment, namely the number of females who got a chance to receive education increased from none to over 35,000 (Wallner, 2012).
During the period of my ruling, I aimed to contribute as much as I can to change the image of a woman in the society. Education was one of the major fields of accent. The fact that me, a woman, received such an honor to become an empress, was put in questions many times, however, due to the effectiveness of the decisions and reforms that occurred under my guidance I proved that a women can and should work, take important decisions, and get a chance to become a leader. During the period of my ruling, there were many people who wanted to take away my power. Since 1764 until 1773, seven people pretended to be my resurrected husbands with the only intention to take a throne, three conspiracy were initiated with the same goal, which, however, failed to accomplish their objective (Dixon, 2009). Many people were dissatisfied with my ruling not only because I am a woman but also because they thought that I had no right to take a throne paying no attention to the effectiveness of my decisions. You were chased for your active position and progressive vision, thus, feeling the disagreement of the society on your personal life. Reformatory people will always face the same difficulties because we are not ready to live in accordance with the old rules (Sayre, 2014).
