Marijuana or cannabis was first discovered in ancient china in 2900 B.C by the Emperor Fu Xi (Irvine). Marijuana was to be used as a form of medication because it was found to have powerful healing properties. Most of Asia used marijuana in ancient times because it was also known to have many health benefits. It would be used recreationally, medically, and spiritually in ancient India and China. As ancient physicians learned about the power of drugs, ma ( marijuana) was known to be very therapeutic. The first man who used it for a medical procedure was a chinese surgeon named Hua T’o. Pharmacist’s make their business by selling prescription pills. If marijuana was legalized however, maybe pharmacists could incorporate marijuana as a source of chronic pain relief. Instead of people needing different medications, they could maybe turn to marijuana for most of their problems. Drug companies will also be a part of it. . Drug companies are having problems keeping up with new drugs. If marijuana is legalized, drug companies won’t have to invest in more cures if marijuana can help keep their patients happy. Marijuana can also help the depressed. Smoking marijauna is safer than other anti-depressants. Activist groups also can be included. People’s view can also be shifted by other factors such as age, politics, socioeconomic status, education, and location. If someone grows up around it and it is prevalent in their environment then they won’t think it is a big deal. However, if someone is raised told that it is bad, they will generally avoid it. Another factor to take into account is education. If someone is educated they can see the benefits of it, however if someone isn’t they won’t. Socioeconomic status is something to take into account.
