Student have been learning about erosion and weathering which are major forces that shape the world around us. Students understanding these forces will help them understand the way our land is shaped from rivers to lakes to canyons and our shore lines. People play a part in the way and amount that our soil erodes around us. it is important for us to understand how erosions works, and how effect on soil erosion since we depend in soil to grow. A field trip to Mary Vagle Nature center will allow student to see erosion hand on, and will help them be able to identify erosion in their daily life. Students have already learned about earthquake and the various erosions in the world. This field trip will help supplement the last unit of erosion and deposit. Student who do not go on the in person fieldtrip may complete the an online virtually and complete the same assignment. They will return the same form but will not complete the erosion that the nature center gives students. The field will go on in rain or shine. Students participating in the Mary Vagle Nature Center field trip will develop the understanding the affects of both physical and weathering as erosion. Students will engage in viewing a hands-on model of weathering and then investigating various examples of weathering and erosion. Students will be put into group put into group of 11 or 12, and will be assigned to a chaperone. They will be in charge of keeping students on schedule, and making sure they are behaving in a matter that will represent of school. Students will also be required to answer question to check for understanding during the field trip. Students will be able to answer the question given to them in the first session so that can be more hands on in the later
