Have you ever realized the actual cost of a college education and what you end up with after graduation? The cost of college education is massively increasing throughout the years. Attending college is difficult for most students because they are not economically wealthy. These students are taking the easy way out by getting loans and end up in debt. Student debt is increasing, but fortunately, there are several possible solutions.

A major issue in today’s society is that students are ending up with debt after attending college. The price for education is rising every year and so are the loans taken by the students. Community colleges are cheaper and are more affordable for graduates. This is a great option to not end up with some sort of debt. It also offers the same opportunity as any other high class school. “ That might mean skipping out on the first choice college and attending a state school or a community college,” (Steinberg 14). Even though this is a solution, it also has a negative outcome. These students that will end up going to a community college or a state college also have to get some type of loan in order to attend. “ Debt always add risk, and unsecured debt that can’t be discharged in bankruptcy adds a ton of risk- and can force students to forgo students things like grad school or taking an exciting but low-paying job that might lead to long term opportunities,” ( Steinberg …show more content…

Scholarships are very helpful in the way that they act like loans. Students can easily apply for them online while being in high school in which that person doesn’t lose anything. The only person that benefits from scholarships is the person applying for them. “ It’s the same time frame applying for the smaller ones as it would have been applying for the big one… It’s worth it to apply for every opportunity, even the ones that are small and may not be a lot to you. If you get $500 scholarship, that’s $500 you didn’t have before,” (Gormus 12). Any amount of scholarships are helpful to the student. A person can get a big amount but many other small amount of several scholarships can even it out. Even though this might be a solution for plenty, there are a few that have problems with applying. A student not knowing the process of applying for a scholarship makes it a weakness. “ No one can guarantee you a scholarship in advance, and you should never have to pay a fee for scholarship searches. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is,” (“Top 10”). Scams are very hurtful and students applying for scholarship have trouble avoiding
