Every college football player who starts for every Division I university every Saturday during football season is already being paid. They wouldn’t need to get paid for playing sports because they already get their tuition and fees paid for through a full-ride scholarship. So receiving money for playing sports after receiving a scholarship is only spoiling the students. And what they would do with all that extra money is up to them, but most of them would spend it on ridiculous things that they don’t need. So the NCAA should stand their ground; student athletes should not be paid. Starters on any sports team for a Division I college already have a full ride scholarship. This scholarship will pay for all of their fees for attending the school. It would pay for housing, books, classes, and anything else you need. What it won’t pay for is food and gas, but the colleges give you a stipend to pay for that stuff. So they wouldn’t need to get paid because all of the things they need are already paid for. They get free money from the college to spend on food and gas for their vehicles. They would get all this money just to spend on things that they don’t need. Not all of them would be this way, some of the students would make smart choices and save a vast majority of the money. The student athletes that spend it all would have a lot of things, but they would start to ask for more. They may start to ask for bonuses for any special achievement, they would get greedy. There would also be those students that spend it on alcohol and drugs. If that happens and they get caught, that hurt the college’s reputation. And the college would not want
