If I could identify a gang that is the most dangerous to our society would be the Street Gangs. One of the reasons I believe the street gangs are dangerous because it affects our community and our children. Street Gangs threaten the community and influences girl’s and boy’s young as 12 years old, are involved in the distribution and sale of drugs like marijuana and cocaine (Levinthal, 2012). Street Gangs have gotten involved in human trafficking, which creates violence that unfolds throughout the United States. Often, youth are attracted to gangs because their home environment is unhappy, unstable, or violent and not having the sense of belonging. I have experienced different situation being employed at a youth center. It is sad that the youth cannot find another outlet than joining a gang such as a drug tracking, murder, and more violence. Blood and the Crips. According to research gang, affiliated individuals had difficulties with interpersonal skills and had low self-esteem which leads to being a target to join a gang (Raby & Jones, 2016). However, there are good gang members such as a motorcyclist that give back to the community, having a cookout for the kids, back to school bash and many more activities through the year. According to the text, motorcycle clubs are conventional or deviant. Conventional is the motorcyclist that love to ride and join others for the sport of riding. Deviant is a motorcyclist who engages in violence and unlawful activities that leads to drug trafficking (Levinthal, 2012).
