Have you ever felt like a prisoner being tortured everyday? That is what animal testing would be experienced as. There are hundreds of different horrific ways animals are tested on. Such as deadly chemicals, fatal disease, and even having their bones broken. Animal testing is horrific problem that needs to be brought to the light. Thousands of animals are victims to animal testing each year. It is an issue that the government doesn't want to control or stop. I believe people like us can make companies one step closer to stop animal testing. A pronounced amount companies that make products that people use every day to test on animals. Thousands different animals are used that shouldn’t have to go through that suffrage. Mostly rodents …show more content…
Hundreds of the tests that are used in cosmetic testing don’t even prove that is safe enough to distribute the product. Even if animals are closest to us genetically they’re still not close enough and tests that work on animals will most likely not work on humans. People mainly still test on animals only because it’s an old habit for companies it’s hard to stop testing once you already have. Luckily, many people are researching other ways to make sure products are safe without testing on animal. The results are so unreliable, animals are dying for no …show more content…
Another the awful abuse things they do is lock the animals up and squirts harmful chemicals in their eyes that don't kill them but make them suffer. Another awful tests they do to animals is injecting them with cancer viruses, including aides and other deadly diseases. If the animal tests positive for the virus, they kill the animal. Another atrocity they do to animals is brake their limbs to see how they react. They do this by muzzling and restraining them and then proceed to break any limbs they please. These awful atrocity acts need to
These animals used for testing products commonly include mice, rats, rabbits, monkeys, hamsters, guinea pigs, dogs and cats. These animals are forced to test new products before they are sold to humans, and even though there are numerous valid substitutes for us to test products on, the law doesn’t require that we do. What’s even more horrifying is that no animal experiment is illegal, and therefore these ‘tests’ can be completely irrelevant to human health, and no matter how painful or cruel the test may be to animals it is completely legal. Some companies that test their products on animals include Almay, Johnson & Johnson, Clearasil, Axe, Lancôme (owned by L’Oréal), and Pantene (owned by Procter & Gamble).
Is animal testing really worth taking away animal’s valuable lives? No, I think it’s wrong, inhumane, and cruel. Animals have feelings like humans do and they should be treated with respect even though they are just animals. When animals are tested over time they live in cruel and harsh conditions. They are tied up and changed to their cages or devices they are being tested on. Almost all tests fail in humans and it is not worth sacrificing an animals life.Think about all the things animals have to go through all the harsh and cruel treatment. They are put in conditions where they are not allowed to eat or drink and move around. Is it really worth killing an animals for eyeliner that will never hit the market or for drugs that all fail in humans. So here are some of the reasons I think we should ban all animal testing.
Approximately two to four million animals have been used in safety tests. Safety tests are conducted with a wide range of chemicals and products, including drugs, vaccines, cosmetics, household cleaners, and packing materials. This raises issues such as the ethics and humaneness of deliberately poisoning animals, thus harming them, for the sake of marketing a new cosmetic or household product.
The testing of animals is rising from pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies because the companies are spending billions of dollars on animals testing in order to make products safer to humans. Test animals are also treated poorly and, because of how they are treated, the animals begin to act differently. The substances cosmetics companies inject into animals are very harmful and torturous to animals, so most animals end up dying or being severely handicapped from then on. Most of the findings and conclusions from animal experimentation do not end up working the same way with humans. Enormous amounts of money are spent on animal testing each year when there are better ways to put the investments for better benefit for our country. Advancements in technology should be used to speed up and improve the process of developing cures for humans instead of continuing to torture innocent creatures. Although animal testing is still being used, the European Union has banned it completely. There are many alternative ways that are in the process of being made but ultimately we need an alternative method that bans animal testing completely.
Every year millions of animals are abused, injured, and hurt. It seems as if humans are not very concerned about animal rights according to these statistics.. Animal rights is the idea that animals should not have to suffer and be able to be in possession of their life. Some people are willing to sacrifice things such as certain brands of makeup or certain kinds of food to improve animal welfare. For many years animals have been experimented on and placed in factory farms. Factory farming is a method of producing food products where the factories value how much they produce and how much they profit over the welfare of the animals. These farms keep animals confined in small spaces and make the animals eat things they were not originally
In many parts of the world, animals are being used in laboratories are still suffering and dying to test cosmetics. In
Animal Testing is one of the most horrible things you could do to an animal. When an animal is tested you could cause it to become crippled for the rest of its life whether they make it blind or even making it to become paralyzed you could even cause extreme pain or death.
The Cruelty of Cosmetic Testing on Animals Each year, thousands of animals are brutally tortured in laboratories, in the name of cosmetic research. A movement to ban animal testing for cosmetic purposes has been gaining popularity, with many companies hopping on the bandwagon against this research. New alternatives have been developed to eliminate the need to test on animals. This is only a small beginning of what is necessary to end these immoral acts. Animal testing in cosmetics is useless and cruel, and can be accomplished by other methods of research to end the suffering of animals.
Today, millions of animals are being tested for the use of human products, causing them to fall ill and die, leaving them no choice but to be experimented on. Animal abuse can be more than what meets the eye. Specifically, animal testing is a form of animal abuse and usually ends in the death of a harmless animal. Some might say that there is no other way to test products, but due to the harm that is done and our advancements in science, animal testing should not be tolerated. Our advancements in science have enabled us to create other things that we can test on, instead of harming innocent animals.
Animal testing is unsafe for all animals from around the world; indeed, “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year” (Top Five Shocking Animal Experimentation Facts). Various animal examinations, do not benefit the lives of guiltless animals. These analyses are to prove an element is safe to use on humans. The testing behind theses products are relatively dangerous to all animals. Fortunately, in today’s society, scientists have found solutions to help prevent animal testing all around the globe.
“Over 1 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in U.S. labs” according to DoSomething.org. And although these animals may be considered protected under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) they are still able to be tortured and mistreated in labs. On top of all this, there is absolutely no guarantee that results and data collected from these procedures are accurate. Our anatomic builds are similar in ways but not at all interchangeable. Even though it has saved lives, animal experimentation should be banned because it is not a guarantee that these procedures are done pain free and humans and animals react differently to the medicines and chemicals used.
115 million animals. This is the amount of animals used every year for testing. There are many different species used around the world, like the most common include mice, fish, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, farm animals, birds, cats, dogs, mini-pigs, and non-human primates(111111111111hsi). When animals are used for product toxicity testing or laboratory research, they are conducted with painful and often deadly experiments(lone star). Animals should not be used for testing because it violates animal rights, and there are alternative testing methods. ENDING SENTENCE
Hundreds of millions of animals die every year from animal testing in the United States. Innocent animals are used everyday in laboratories for biology advancements, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic testing. They are used to provide information to make better products that are safe for human use. Although animal experimentation has some benefits, the negatives outweigh the positives. Animal testing is killing off innocent beings for the possible human benefit, and with modern technology, there are alternative ways to test products that leave animals unharmed.
It still comes as a surprise to me that with all the technology in today’s society, we are still relying on animals for cosmetic research. Some people think that it is acceptable and even justified to test on mere animals rather than risk hurting people. So, for these kinds of people, animal testing makes perfect sense. However, in my opinion, animals are living creatures and have the right to live out their lives as nature intended rather than simply surviving in cages while being poked and prodded with whatever scientists fancy. I think it is depressing and sort of grotesque that I am using products that have been tested on animals that are even commonly bred as our pets. So, I began my research to find out what companies still test on animals, why they do so, and what other alternatives they could use in place of animal testing.
In conclusion, animal testing has been overused for too long. Nothing essential has been the outcome of it, and no scientific breakthrough has stopped anything from damaging us. The many, many animals are mistreated, many times killed. They need to begin to establish a more protective act, just like the AWA, however this time, it should strive to protect the majority of the animals used, so they can live safely. Finally, if we are able to find and develop successful alternatives to all animal testing, it might be gone forever. If all of these things can come together and make it happen, we may be able to see the day where all animals are treated ethically and with sheer, utter, respect.
