Everybody loves to have their children be involved in clubs and contests that take them out of the house and into something their kids can have fun doing. There is a key word in that sentence, and that word is fun. What do children like to do for fun? Well, for boys, it is running around outside climbing trees and pretending to be superheroes. It is a different story for girls. Little girls imagine themselves as a variety of things. Whether, they are a host of a tea party, a princess in a castle, or even a fashion model. Now, what could parents do for their daughters that allow them to see themselves however they want to and also be a little model? Look no further, because society allows girls to be both by involving them in beauty pageants. Fun, right? Well, at first. All they generally have to do, other than eat and drink, is listen to their parents. If the girls had an absolute need for something, they would ask their parents for whatever it is they need. Even in pageants, parents help a lot, but only because it is fun for them to see their little girl light up and be happy to be in a little costume and perform a little something for an audience. However, what of the girls who have been in several pageants and are really into winning them? These girls are obviously spoiled, so they need their parents to do really outlandish things for them in order to win, like perhaps a spray tan or perm to make themselves look better. The girls try their best to make themselves look the best they can for the audience and, more importantly, the judges. A cute costume just isn’t enough anymore.
