Girls think differently than boys which would make the story have a different outcome. The culmination of events would be similar, but would be handled differently. Since girls are more in touch with their emotions than boys are, they would not have become as savage as the boys did. The girls would have issues in their tribe, but they would still help each other and stay as one strong tribe. The novel, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding would have been very different if British girls were on the island instead of British boys. Girls have ten times more white matter in their brain than boys do according to Psychology Today. White matter is a “network grid” that lets girls transition from tasks quicker. Having more white matter can help on the island because more can get done in a smaller amount of time. The girls would have done things quicker like building the shelters, and deciding responsibilities for the different girls like getting water, or keeping a signal fire going. If the girls can get the work done faster and can transition from doing one thing to another quicker, there would not be many arguments between them. Males are aggressive whereas females can sit still much longer. If the girls can sit still longer, they would be able to sit by the fire and make sure it does not go out; whereas the boys in charge of watching the …show more content…

The tribe would have cliques inside it where there would be strong bonds, and many things like responsibilities would be established quickly. Irrational events like murder would not happen because they would not turn on each other like the boys did. Although there may be some tension or arguments between some of the girls, they would still stay together as one tribe because they would have everything planned out and established, and they will be able to forgive each
