Synopsis
Wardell Stephen Curry II was born on March 14, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, but mainly grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He mostly learned the fundamentals and skills of basketball by watching and practicing with his father who played in the NBA. Stephen had Been playing basketball since he was 5 years old and he is still today. He is a inspiring athlete to kids around the world.
Early life:
Stephen curry grew up in a very wealthy family because of his father. Stephen was very respectfully treated by his parents. His mom was a former college volleyball player at Virginia tech. His father was a preffisonalonal basketball player for the Charlotte hornets. Curry was introduced to basketball at a young age. Stephen and his father would spend hours and hours at the gym when he was about 7 to master his shot. He studied at Charlotte Christian with a good education. There was more to curry than just basketball.

Curry and his dad would always play basketball. Basketball never came easy to him, him and his dad would practice all the time. Curry's high school years were a little bit tough for him sophomore and junior year of high school was tough for Stephen he was very unselfish on the court so he only scored an average of 6 points per game until the high school team lost the state championship then everything changed for Stephen he figured out he couldn't always pass the ball to his teammates all the time he needed to take control whenever he could. his senior year of high school was a success, the scouts from big schools like Virginia tech started to look at Stephens game but they didn't want Stephen anymore because of his size. Stephen thought that he was good enough to get these scholarship to a division 1 school but instead he used that disappointment and turned it into motivation. Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. When Michael was still a toddler he and his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Michael was the fourth of five children. He had two older brothers, James Jr. and Larry, one older sister, Deloris, and one younger sister, Roslyn. Michael’s dad, James Sr. Jordan, worked for General Electric, and Michael’s mother, Deloris Jordan, who worked at The United Carolina Bank as the head teller. Michael always wanted to be a professional athlete. Once when he was nine years old he watched the United States lose to Russia in the Olympic Games in Basketball. He then told his mom that he would win a gold medal in Basketball at Olympic Games. When Michael was twelve he pitched two no hitters in the Wilmington, North Carolina Little League. His little league team went on and almost made it to the Little League World Series.
Jackie Robinson was also known as Jack Rossevelt Robinson. Jackie Robinson had very many struggles; Jackie was drafted and assigned to Fort Riley, Kansas, where he faced racial discrimination on a daily basis, he was the first African American in baseball, transformed the face of American sports forever, and his father abandoned the family when Jackie was an infant, and forced his mother and four older siblings to join the "Great Migration" of the time and move to California. Jackie was born on January 31, 1919. He was born into a family of sharecroppers in Cairo, Georgia. It is still said that he never "completely" knew his real father, but there are other stories to. Jackie's real father is also said to have left the family the same year he was born, 1919. About 3 months after his birth, he left to go to the Great Migration, and he never returned. At the same time as all that was going on, he was dealing with lots of racism and torture. The white men were a lot more educated than Jackie and other black men, yet black men were still very educated. All these struggles are just the ones in his early years, the struggles that are more known happen later when he becomes very well known by most whites, yet just because he was well known does not mean that they all liked him.

Stephen Curry, currently one of the best players in the NBA, experienced an obstacle when he was not to a top college. Rather than seeing this as an end to his NBA dreams, he overcame this obstacle by turning it in to an opportunity. As a member of the Davidson College team, the underdogs at the 2008 NCAA tournament, he was able to demonstrate his skills during his teams dream run to the final 8. Through his shooting prowess and never give up mentality he showed the basketball world his ability to change the course of a game. Had he not been challenged by this obstacle he may not have had the opportunity to demonstrate his skills, with this opportunity acting as a catalyst for many more in the future.
Michael Jordan was born on February 17th, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. He is the fourth youngest of five kids. Once Michael was born, his parents did not want to raise their family in the streets of Brooklyn where there was violence and drugs. They thought this would be too much temptation for their kids to not fall into. They then moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, a small, laid back town. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan showed all their kids how to work hard and make things happen rather than sit around and wait for things to happen. Although most of their kids stuck to hard work, Michael had some tendencies to be lazy when playing sports. He was always discouraged because he could never compete in sports with his older brother, Larry.
