Information technology has changed and continues to change the ways people live in today’s rapidly changing world. Growing up in such an era had instilled in me a natural thirst for new technologies. Learning more and more techniques gave rise to my eagerness to become one of those prominent researchers who change the world with their outstanding research. However, neither my necessity of research skills nor my insatiable appetite for technologies is satisfied by my undergraduate education. So here I am applying for a Ph.D. degree.
When I was a freshman, I majored in Information Management & Information System. Since only the technical part of the curriculum could attract me, I changed my major to Computer Science at the beginning of the second year. Although such a decision would entail huge risks, I enjoyed the freedom to follow my mind. Generally speaking, it takes 3 years to complete the core courses of Computer Science and I managed to finish them within 2 years. Although my study of Computer Science started one year later than other classmates, the gap was entirely eliminated by my 2 years’ overload. My ability, persistence, and arduous effort resulted in the Academic Excellence Award to confirm my readiness for graduate study. And as shown in my academic transcript, my grades have gone up every semester and I have a feeling that I have not yet hit my climax.
As far as I know, doing research requires solid technical skills and extensive project experience. Taking this into consideration, I intentionally chose courses that feature challenging course projects to hone my skill. This strategy turned out to be fruitful. I got A’s for all the project-oriented courses. My understanding of various domains, such as OS, compiler, NL...

...y broad scope of interest in computational techniques. In addition, I think the motivation of research in Software Engineering stems from the demand of software industry, and UIUC is good at providing such connections between industry and academia. Prof. Tao Xie, who works closely with MSRA, is a leading researcher in both PL and SE, which appeals to me the most. Prof. Darko Marinov has made remarkable contribution to software reliability these years and his research areas are closely related to my interest. I regard it a great honour if I could do research with them.
In conclusion, my academic background and research experience demonstrate that I am a talented, self-motivated and hardworking candidate for your Ph.D. program. With strong desire to become a prominent researcher, I sincerely hope that I could get admitted to the Department of Computer Science at UIUC.
... important thing that I learned from this research project was that taking initiative represents having your own expectations and goals. A person must follow their dreams by relying on their own expectations that must be higher than those set by others. Although we gathered enough information from the research project, I believe that taking advantage of resources is essential in order to surpass the transition from high school to college. But if I could do something differently in the project, I would have encouraged my teammates to take breaks in order to be more relaxed and focused. The research project has been an immense experience that has changed my perspective in college, but mostly taught me valuable elements to become a successful freshman student.

The Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science is known for world class faculties, mentoring, and hands on experience. Having such a rich history and very strong alumni network compels me to apply to Carnegie as I want to be a part of that alumni and want to achieve as much as they have. I am keen to study Computing courses offered in Carnegie that provide interdisciplinary interests bridging technology and creative practices, teamwork opportunities, technical rigor, and enormous opportunities for research which will be helpful for my lifelong growth. Being
The computing industry as a whole becomes more prosperous, exciting and attractive as an employment prospect each day. It spans a wide range of modern applications, as does my interest in the subject. I see computing science as a gateway into new realms of computing, where the highly challenging and demanding work may reap rewards of an equivalent level.
I take this opportunity to introduce myself as a student of undergraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering from “KONERU LAKSHMAIAH UNIVERSITY”, Vaddeswaram,Guntur,Andhra Pradesh, India a premier institute of my country. My wish is to embark on a career of research in the field of Computer Science for which the first logical step would be to peruse the graduate program in your department.

I started computer programming at the age of thirteen. The first computer that I worked on was a BBC machine for which I wrote my first program. The first computer language that I learnt was ‘BASIC’. And today, when I have completed my undergraduate education I have become thorough with most programming languages and technologies in the computer science domain. My interest in pursuing graduate studies and pursuing a career as a research scientist has especially grown during my undergraduate days, and intensified during my interaction with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
My overall research goal is to develop algorithms providing efficient, optimal solutions, furthermore, to focus on analysing large-scale information to design, develop new algorithms and architecture. My ambition is to develop a career aimed at research and development in the arena of Computer Science. I envision pursuing my doctorate forthwith my graduate studies. I do bring along an enduring clench of basics in System software research, piquancy for challenges and an enthusiastic lechery to
A graduate degree in computer science will help me prepare to achieve my short term and long term goals. I wish to pursue a graduate level program so as to interact with students and faculties who are interested in the same field as I am. I want to be a part of the indispensable field of computer science which takes computers and its applications to the next level by participating in the exchange of ideas with the enormous body of knowledge in existence. I believe I have the correct aptitude and knowledge for research work and Arizona State University provides me with a good platform to enhance my research capability by nurturing me while contributing to its own educational environment. I therefore, look forward to joining your Computer Science department as a graduate student.

The mind must never be kept idle because of its tremendous capacity to absorb and learn. After careful consideration of my aptitude, interests and experiences gained while pursuing my under graduation in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, I have decided to pursue my Masters in the field of Computer Science. Being a dynamic and ever evolving field, many new developments are expected and there is immense scope for research on new products and applications. To progress and make a mark in this field, I realize that it is important for me to pursue my Masters from a reputable university. I have always dreamt of taking up research.
Being well acknowledged about the above saying has pushed me a mile further for every aspect of my life. The four year engineering course in Information Technology has always been a beautiful experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Masters degree. This would allow me to enhance my knowledge about technology and its pros and cons and the guidance I would need. Gone are those days when man had to slog for simple works, he has advanced into boundaries which are unimaginable and has made his life easy, being an essential part of such an advancement has always been my motive. To attain my goal, my first priority would be in the field of research which will consist experiencing the applications in the real world steered by comprehensive know-how about technology. Technology has prevailed and casted its spell to parts unknown and now has been imbibed into man.
In conclusion, I believe that I have the required zeal to progress my knowledge further at the University of Southern California. My decision to focus on Cybersecurity over the years, has equipped me with a unique set of strengths that I can put to use in the program. Being an International student, I hope to contribute to the already existing multiethnic and multiracial society at your esteemed institution. After I earn my master's degree, I intend to start work on my Ph.D. in Computer Science. I see Ph. D as a professional stepping stone that would help me work in the area of research and development for the Government of India. It is in R & D that I believe, I can make the greatest contribution, utilizing my theoretical background and creativity as a scientist.
I believe after learning in depth about Adaptive Algorithms and Natural Language Processing, I shall manage to leap towards R&D division of major IT organizations.
