The major event that I have chosen is the New South Wales Blues versus the Queensland Maroons NRL State of Origin Series. It is a state representative level football series that is held over three games, typically two in Brisbane Queensland and one in Sydney New South Wales or two in Sydney New South Wales and one in Brisbane Queensland. It is one of the biggest sporting events in Australia that is held annually, and is frequently described as being the highest level of rugby league played anywhere in the world.

Although the series is marketed as family friendly and there are all demographics of people of all ages who go along to enjoy a high rivalry game of football, the demographic and statistics suggest that the majority of the crowd is made up of males.
The State of Origin series is held in a large sporting arena. In 2015 it was held at three different sporting venues. Game one was in Sydney New South Wales, at ANZ Stadium. Game two was held in Melbourne Victoria, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and game three was held in Brisbane Queensland, at Suncorp Stadium. ANZ stadium in particular also advertises on their website for a large range or permanent employees, especially regarding the tourism and events industry. Such positions that are available are event and venue management, human resources and event staffing, catering and hospitality, media and communications, event and business development, finance and marketing.
The ARL (Australian Rugby League) is the majority stakeholder of the NRL and in part the state of origin, as it owns 50% of the National Rugby League. The other stakeholders of the NRL consist of New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), Queensland Rugby League (QRL), and the club level teams which are all part of the NRL.
If wanting to gain more knowledge on the operations of the State of Origin series there are a magnitude of people who I would be able to network with as hundreds of staff and suppliers are used for each game and series. One of the biggest suppliers of State of Origin are the venues, ANZ stadium in particular. The events manager of ANZ stadium would have the best knowledge and would be the most resourceful person to network with if wanting to gain more State of Origin event

Sport fans, sometimes also called sport devotees, followers, or supporters, are persons who are enthusiastically devoted to a particular athlete, team or sport. They may show their enthusiasm by often attending sporting events or watch on television, being members of a fan club, follow sport news through newspapers, online websites, and creating fanzines. Their disposition is often such that they will experience a game or event by living through their favored players or teams. These behaviors manifest itself in different ways. To enable better understanding of these behavioral patterns, we have to classify these sports fans into groups based on their devotion to teams: fair-weather fans, bandwagon and the super-fans.
Going to a Carolina Panthers football game and it was great! I used sight, hearing, smelling, feeling, and tasting when I went. Out of all the NFL games I have been to, this was by far my favorite. There was so much to do when I went there.
There are leagues all over the world with both adults and kids. For example, at Ouachita, there are intermural leagues that involve the students and the faculty. In the United States, Football is one sport that most men love watching, may it be on television or live stadium (Chandler, 1988). For example, men are willing and able to sit down at home in front of the television for more than six hours just watching the football games and wouldn’t sit down doing any other thing for more than 15 minutes. Football has been in the making for over 150 years. The foundation of football comes from rugby, a British sport and also incorporates war tactics. In the beginning, the game was unorganized because there were few rules and it was new to the players. But by the end of the Civil War, football had taken on a whole new look; it started to become the modern version that we are familiar with today (Kennedy 7-9). The development of football has changed the culture because, “Every town in America has at least one high school, football team that draws a big crowd” (Buckley 4). Therefore, without fall football, high school students and even parents would have nothing to do on Friday nights. Football games have added to the world of entertainment and continue to grow as a place for social gathering.
Truly, attending both events enabled me to assess and analyze the similarities and differences of two sports. Recognizing that the two sports are culturally different despite being very identical to each other was rather astounding. The social influence that the sports seem to have on the players and the fans also appears to have a positive outlook. It will be interesting to see how each sport progresses in the future in regards to the types of fans that come to the games, how the teams interact with the fans, and the overall atmosphere of the games as well.
The mixture of these four factors creates great rivalry among teams chasing sponsors, licensees and fans for a fixed pool of revenue with covering high and often increasing costs.

“Did you notice that the boys game is played differently than the girls, I mean my children don’t complain about the rule difference but I wonder what is up with that.” Most likely this is what is going through parents minds while their kids are playing a game and then there are other teams that are a different gender playing the game differently. In youth sports, the rules are different for the different genders playing the game which makes it a really judged game based off of athletes different genders.
