Introduction

Sport is defined as: “An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.”

Nowadays, sports in general, have become a substantial part of our society, with billions of people engaged. It is due to the great popularity of sports that youngsters look up to professional athletes as their role models.

According to the website www.statista.com, the NFL Championship has been flowed throughout the season by 108.7 million people in 2014 (1).

For instance, I could create and share a poster campaign on the values that sports can teach to youngsters, or on the importance of fairness in sports. Another effective ways of raising awareness as an individual is by signing a petition and convincing my friends to do so. Organizations such as Peace One Day and Kick It Out often set up petitions to sign. Another very effective way of getting my problem known is through presenting it to my schoolmates during an assembly or meeting.
Explaining the issues related to it, and what we can do to improve the situation.

Raising funds is crucial for helping the problem. In order to help raising funds, I could set up a bake sale which would then donate the money to a charity like United Through Sports. Such charities use the funds to help tackling these issues. For instance, this charity in particular, uses funds to help organizing summer activities where young adults teach sports in poorer countries. Lastly, I could participate in sponsored events, by doing that I would actively take part in the cause. Due to my expertise in Rugby, I would be able to teach the basics of the sport and the values that it teaches. I have once helped poor children in Africa as a summer activity, I taught them the rules of Football and its technical points. Although I was able to see how, after they learned the true principals of the sport, they played with fairness and showed much more unity as a
