I selected this career because I am interested in law and government jobs in general, I have always been interested in it overall. I wasn’t able to decide on which one so, I just chose this career. Out of many careers tests Sociologist type careers have always been a top option choice for me. FBI Agents, are responsible to investigate crimes like terrorism, human trafficking, kidnapping and more. The training requirements is to have a background in law, forensics, or any other sociologist career, you need two or three years of a professional work experience depending on which degree someone has. An average salary of being an agent is $43,000 if in training and $61,000 - $69,000 depending on career as an agent. Work conditions include being ready for assignments in all places at any time and working 24 hours a day. Around 35,000 people are employed in the FBI. Everyone in the FBI should have a degree in criminal justice of masters or bachelors. It is difficult to become skilled at this position because people will be competing against each other to become the best. They require a trainee to go to Quantico,Virginia the trainee will be there for twenty-one weeks preparing and learning to be an FBI Agent. They require a small fee to be in the academy which is $60 for national price but the costs appears to be free …show more content…
The need for agents isn’t provided but i think the need is increasing. The changes in society that affect this job requires more protection against criminals, illegal activity, human trafficking, or terrorism. These several activities occur still and in recent news, it’s getting worse and more people will be needed to be an agent. This career won’t go away because new recruits and more job openings in the field will provide those interested and eligible people to be apart of it. If all types of crimes were to end, then no agents in the FBI will be in
The criminal justice field is made up of many facets. The court system includes many professions which include lawyers, judges, police officers and polygraph examiners. The federal justice system has numerous professions as well. Two highly recognizable organizations in the government criminal justice system are the CIA and the FBI. Two careers of interest worth future investigation are a polygraph examiner and a special agent in the FBI.
When asked "What is the trashiest show on television?" I wouldn't doubt that the majority of the population would agree that it was The Jerry Springer Show. The show deals with people and there issues in the way like many other self-help shows do, for example Oprah or Dr. Phil, but the issues that are dealt with are quite different. Although one may argue that the people on The Jerry Springer Show are simply freaks, a sociologist would say that the issues on the show are dysfunctions of society and this show is an outlet for them to show off their abnormality. We must first understand the life of Jerry Springer to analyze his role on the show. Without a doubt, the show affects the morals and norms of society along with our perception of class, gender, and sexuality. Another important aspect is the role of the audience on the show and how that effects the roles of the guests.
With this over the years the FBI has been given a large amount of authority to serve and protect. Doing so the FBI has been broken into seven areas to follow the U.S. Constitution. Background Investigations, Civil Rights, Domestic Terrorism, National Foreign Intelligence, Organized Crime/Drug Cases, Violent Crimes, and White Collar Crimes. Given this a large amount of authority even today the FBI sees to it that they base all their actions from the U.S. Constitution.
In all respect I've always had a fascination with becoming an F.B.I. agent. As my interest grow during my educational progression, I'm learning how my personal attributes with help me in my given field. First of is the size of my physical build, which I believe will help me with any possible altercation I my encounter. My positive attitude toward life will also be helpful. I also have a good decision making skills, with out letting let and kind of prejudice entering my mind. The reason I am so positive about this is I've had such a variety of friends. I've had friends of different races, ethnic background, and religious beliefs. I've also have a vary strong emotional barrier due to all the tragedy I've gone though in my life. I've lost three of my closet friends in the last four years. Through all those years I was the person who was strong to help my entire friends threw our losses. When I get into the field all the knowledge I've acquired in my education will in all intent be useless. How do I know this you ask? Several people I know in several justice fields have told me that the real education comes in the field. Their have several movies such as "The Siege", Silence of the Lambs" witch have inspired me to follow in this possible life style. The T.V. show cops is the most instamental to me, due to the way they always explain how to dissolve every encounter, and what would happen to the perpetrator. These movies and T.V. shows give a positive outlook on my possible life in handling these issues. I would not leave out the possibility of becoming a scout leader. The reason I think I could handle this job is because I've always had an attraction to teaching children. I have been babysitting children for seven years, for my next-door neighbors and my aunt. Any other person besides their parents or me could always never control the three boys next door. Then there are my two cousins who were both girls. I always loved watching children; I just get along with them so well. I believe I could make a difference in their lives.
The FBI is continually faced with capital challenges in its transformation efforts to develop its counterterrorism capabilities, including realigning staff from the traditional law enforcement mission to a counterterrorism focus; building and improving intelligence gathering, analytic, and information sharing capabilities; and recruiting employees with specialized skills to fit these new positions. Still there remain concerns about how well the counterterrorism and intelligence missions have been integrated with the FBI's more traditional law enforcement mission and culture. Currently, progress is being made to fill staffing vacancies in the FBI’s counterterrorism division.(GAO High Risk & Other Major Government Challenges Balancing Fighting Crime Versus Terrorism)
History of the FBI The Federal Bureau of Investigation was founded in 1908 when the Attorney General appointed an anonymous force of 34 Special Agents to be investigators for the Department of Justice. Before that, the DOJ had to borrow agents from the U.S. Secret Service. In 1909, the Special Agent Force was renamed the Bureau of Investigation, and after countless name changes, it became The Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1935. When the FBI was established, there weren't an abundance of federal crimes, so it investigated criminal acts that dealt with national banking, bankruptcy, naturalization, antitrust, peonage, and land fraud. In June of 1910, the FBI grew larger because of the "Mann Act" (Made it a crime to transport women to other states for immoral reasons).
The FBI is an organization that takes pride in how they conduct their mission. John E. Ott, editor for the FBI says, “Our goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the threats and pe...

In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge appointed J. Edgar Hoover as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Eileen Ahlin). The Bureau was in a fatal state with lax standards, corrupt agents, and agents who obtained the jobs through political connections rather than intelligence or skill. Most agents rarely carried guns or even made arrests; they played explicitly no role in enforcing the law. The FBI did not engage in most federal cases, which made it easier for criminals to get away with their crimes. Hoover had the drive to change the Bureau to a more efficient, modern organization. The 30s is the bulk of his work when he created a police labs and training facilities across the country, as well as developing a system for documenting finger prints. He laid out clear cut and precise standards, polices, and regulations to enforce – even if it meant bitterly criticizing his most trusted officers. Hoover hired new agents unlike the average cop and shady investigator the bureau had previously hired. Instead, the...
For example the working hours of a CIA agent are very long. This would mean I would not have much time for my family or for relaxation. Another reason Is that it has a possible death risk. By this I mean is that as a CIA agent I will be dealing with a lot of dangerous people and this could end up in injury or even death. And my final reason is that JJCJ is somewhat far away. It is in Manhattan New York, Now this might not sound so far but I would have to leave my home and state to attend that college. These are some reasons why it would be difficult to be a CIA agent.
Truck driving is a much needed career to help transport goods across the United States and other local areas. Commercial Truck Driving is the career I choose to uphold. Trucking is a way of transportation needed to keep business going. Trucking has been a part of my family for years so I fell in love with trucks now I won’t to drive my own. This career has a good background, career requirements, job positions, and a good reflection.
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) are a few other agencies that also employ criminal profilers. Although there are other employers that hire criminal profilers, the FBI is the most prominent. In order to be considered as a potential member of these programs, having an advanced degree in behavioral or forensic science is recommended. However, the most important qualification is an agent’s overall experience as an investigator of violent crimes. John Douglas, a famous FBI profiler, believes that “degrees and academic knowledge [are] not nearly as important as experience and certain subjective qualities” (Muller 250).
In my interview I chose my girlfriend's neighbor. Hector is of Mexican decent and he is here because in Meigs county the produce fields hire Mexican laborers on worker permits. Hector started out doing this then he became the boss about five years ago and received his green card and now is an American and can speak very good English. He explained to me that in Mexico there is no age when you can start working so there are young boys working at six to ten years old to help support his needy family. He also stated that women do not usually work they are only aloud to go to the village markets and get goods for their family's and raise there many children. I asked about minimum wage and he kinda laughed and said some teens and men who work are lucky to get a dollar an hour, but he said the people who are lucky enough to get to do what he got to do make there family's a lot of money. He said when he started coming to America to work he was picked like a lottery pick because there are only so many jobs for little positions he and his entire family was dirt poor, but now he said his family is the richest in the village. He said that he has also got to move all of his immediate family to America.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is a law enforcement agency used by the United States’ government. The FBI has been solving cases since 1908, and has been a world leader in crime solving since then. The FBI uses a ton of different ways to solve a case and a lot of them include math. It uses math to solve cases by using statistics to make predictions about a case, special angles when shooting a gun, using geometry when making a geographical area to search in, and pattern recognition to find a place where a criminal might strike.
