Psychodynamic Perspective focuses on your inner self and social relationships. For example, the inner self relationship you have is based off of two other personalities but there is one neutral personality you portray. The ego personality helps us deal with reality more practical. The ego has to manage the id and superego’s personalities by having defense mechanism. The Id is the part of the brain that is our impulsive desires. The superego is like the conscious that tells you right from wrong.
Behavioral perspective is based on the law of effect. If the consequence of an action is good it will reoccur, but if the consequence of the action is bad, it won’t reoccur. Furthermore, operant conditioning is voluntary because there’s something in it for you and classical conditioning is reflexive and involuntary.
Humanists (humanistic perspective) concentrate on personal emotions and people’s everyday lives rather than their past experiences during childhood.
Cognitive perspective is the thought and storing processing of the brain. It also consists of remembering, using, and learning information. In addition to this perspective, within it is cognitive neuroscience which deals with the living brain’s activity and imaging its structure.
Sociocultural perspective contains two areas of study which are social psychology and cultural psychology. Both areas of study are about the effects one may have on another, which extends to large groups like cultures. Not only is the behavior of people for this perspective influenced by people, but also by society’s voice such as what’s “in” and what’s “not”. The parietal lobes contain the somatosensory cortex; this part processes the sense of touch. Temporal lobes include the sense of taste and hearing. Within the frontal lobes is the motor cortex which controls the movements of the body. To begin with, I would tell them ADHD is a developmental disorder which causes the lack of attention, calmness, and restraint. ADHD has three different categories, ADHD hyperactive, ADHD inattentive, and ADHD combined of hyperactive and inattentive. The prefrontal cortex, basal ganglia, cerebellum, and corpus callosum are the areas in the brain that have been affected due to this condition. These brain areas are responsible for regulating attention, emotional control, alertness, and motivation.
